I bought this after my Vidal Sassoon straightener died. The plastic is cheap, you can hear it creak and groan as you use it. I have to make several passes over my hair to get it straight, my other one only took one pass. It also pulls my hair as I use it. It does not glide smooth. I'm taking mine back today. Will have to go on search for my old one.
