Detect excess moisture before it becomes a problem with DampRid moisture detection strips. Many homes struggle with excess humidity and dampness in the air. If left untreated, excess moisture can lead to musty odors, moisture damage, mold, and mildew. While moisture levels vary based on climate and temperature, to protect your home, relative humidity should be kept below 60% with 30%-50% being the optimal range (EPA.gov, 2021). DampRid moisture detection strips accurately measure the level of humidity in the air, helping you identify areas where excess moisture is a problem. They're easy to use, too. Simply unwrap one of the moisture detection strips and place it on any surface in the area you want to measure. The blue dots will gradually begin to change color to purple and then pink to indicate the level of moisture in the air. After 2 hours, the highest dot that changes to purple or pink indicates the level of moisture in your space. If the 60%+ dot changes to purple or pink, there is excess moisture in the air. If the 60%+ dot remains blue, moisture levels are within an acceptable range. If you do not have excess moisture, but you are experiencing musty odors or have concerns about moisture fluctuation, DampRid Moisture Absorbers can be used to create fresher, cleaner air and prevent moisture damage.
