Danby 2.26 cu ft Twin Tub Washing Machine with Spin Dry, White

Moved into an apartment with no hook ups and had to get something, since the one laundromat in the small town I moved to was expensive and lousy. I saw this at a local appliance dealer and remembered my mom having something similar in the 60s. So I decided to buy it. That was over 4 years ago and it's still going relatively strong. It's really simple, all mechanical switches/timers and only two agitation options. But that's also less to go wrong. And yes not being able to just dump my cloths in and walk away took getting use to, but it's not as big a pain as you'd think. Over all it and the 120volt apt dryer I bought (different brand) cost around 600CN and both units have paid for themselves by now. There are a few things that aren't perfect. The agitator is kind of skinny so it doesn't move the cloths as efficiently as the bigger models do. But I guess it might cause more clothes getting tangled together if it was. So I just always use the "heavy" option. In the last year the spinners belt has started to squeak on occasion. I thought it would be self tightening so it'll possibly need to be replaced. It shouldn't wear out that quick. But it's this last problem that caused me to deduct a star. With my mom's unit there was a small disk like part to put over the cloths to keep them from coming out of the spin drum. It was kind of heavy and made out of real rubber. Well the one supplied with this unit is a light plastic and sucks! It's so light that occasionally it will have one of it's tabs pop up and start to rub against the lid making a massive racket. It now looks like it's gone through WW2. But other than that I'm happy. In fact a month ago I bought a Danby countertop dishwasher because of my experience with this machine.

I guess this is my fault. I did not read description carefully. The item I as described, delivery is fast. The only reason I would not recommend this product is that it is not automatic. I did not expect that non automatic washers are still on the market and bought this just for the shape, cpnvivience, and size. It come a surprise that I need to feel it with water, then dry it manually, then refill it for the rinse and dry it again.p, then transfer clothes to spinner and they not dump after but really wet that you need to wring them out before placing in the drier. Again it is hood as described, just read the description before you buy

Going to laundry mat or using community washers no longer necessary. Cleans queen comforter I used tide cold wash detergent and clothes comes out clean. Takes longer for waiting for water to fill and after a wash you can drain and restart. I wash clothes at least twice to get them very clean. Overall I don't mind the extra work because I can stay in my apartment the spin dry works great I was able to get the comforter inside and it leaves everything dry enough to air dry the rest of the way. I would recommend to anyone with no washer dryer hook ups that hates going to the laundry mat it is a wonderful alternative. Good enough for two adults and one child. I noticed some water leaking from the bottom of machine not much just use a towel under to keep the floor dry or a quick dry mop after not a big deal for me. I researched several washers before choosing this one, I'm glad I did. I was happy with the size of tub and the spin dryer is just as important unless you want to buy them separately. I previously had a much smaller system it just wasn't cutting it for doing the amount of laundry I needed to wash my clothing, my husbands and daughters now with this machine laundry is a lot faster no more tiny loads.

The Danby twin tub has far exceeded my expectations !! very easy to use, king size sheets, blankets, winter jackets, snow suits etc no problem, this is a real work horse ! I have complete control over wash cycles, clothes come out really clean, it spins dries almost dry, very handy and easy to move, after using it for over a year I highly recommend without hesitation !!
