Danby Designer DDW1899WP Dishwasher

Downsizing to a tiny space [520 sq ft] seemed challenging enough, but when I discovered no dishwasher [1st time in my life I didn't have a dishwasher] I really questioned my move. Then I discovered the 18 inch portable Danby. 1st it is counter height so it does double duty by extending the kitchen counter. Next the stainless steel interior is a breeze to keep clean. But above all, the smart design of the baskets is the real winner here. It holds service for 8. The bottom basket has fold down tine options that holds deep pots and the convenient upper has a smart large utensil tray that also holds shallow plastic containers. Oh I almost forgot. The dishwasher salt and rinse dispenser ... ensures clean sparkly dishes. This 18 inch portable Danby is a smart buy!

Bought this dishwasher because I have no space for a builtin and can move it out of the way.. Wish it wasn't taller then my counters but it works great, takes longer then I expected to finish a load, but beats handwashing and cleans well.. (I still handwash pots and pans) I would recommend it to households with 2-3 people.. With 2 of us we only have to run it every other day.

I am very pleased with my dishwasher. After reading some of the other reviews, I was a bit skeptical about having ordered it. I was expecting to receive it all dented up and malfunctioning. Happily, that was not the case. I am very impressed by the stainless steel interior. I was pleased that it wasn't cheap plastic. The size is perfect for my home and it operates very easily. My dishes come out sparkling clean! Several years ago, I had a full size GE portable dishwasher that was extremely loud. This dishwasher is so quiet that I forget that it is on. I would recommend this dishwasher to anyone.

We had a great experience with the actual unit. It looks really nice and gets the job done! My issue was with the manual. It was like the Instruction were for an older model. Some of the diagrams didn't even match up! It's my job to work with 1,000's of dollars worth of soundboards and light boards, but this product had me going to youtube to watch how to start the cycle. So be prepared to do some of your own learning.

This dishwasher definitely meets my expectations, which were high from reading most reviews. The only thing I think could be improved is the lower rack dividers are unstable, but nothing a zip tie can't fix! Overall I am just thrilled to not spend so much time at the sink, and the dishes are much shinier then when washed by hand.
