We were ready for a new fridge, but was tired of the ice makers going out so often. We bought this Danby icemaker and replenish our ice quickly. It also gave me more room in my new fridge.
I had a previous ice machine, different brand, that died 1 week after year warranty ran out. Replaced with this one and though Water well larger, have to fill more often. Even when I’ve just filled it says we need to add water. Forever has the light on for bucket full, even though bucket is empty or close to and we re-set Unit. This is annoying. I also hate the 8 beeps to say bucket is full - annoying. The plus is it makes nice ice, can set 3 different sizes, so that part we are very happy with.
The Countertop Danby Ice-maker purchased last month was an excellent find. The party that was on the receiving end, has nothing but praise for this item. The ice-maker is so versatile with the size of cube you wish to make, for any particular reason. This product truly lives up to it's features.
Bought this for my sister who loves to chew ice and also entertain. She loves it and I was able to see it in action over the Christmas holiday. It was able to keep up with our needs as we enjoyed our cocktails and use of machine easy. The only negatives was it was a bit loud but, that may have been because under the cupboard is confined and in an open space maybe not an issue. The other thing is it is a bit large but, not too much so.
It is really a nice machine. It takes some time to make the ice and you are constantly empting out the ice into plastic ziplocks bags. It really does take a full day or two to make 50 pounds of ice. I use bottle water or my water from the RO system that is in my house. The ice taste better.
