Defender 8CH DIY Security System, 500 GB HDD

Have had this in operation for over a year and am very pleased wit results. Remote access configuration is somewhat involved but there are many online resources to help figure it out. Defender product support was very helpful with I setup, but later found all info needed in the manual. I use remote access daily to keep tabs on a vacation cabin and could not be happier with this prodjuct. I will say that the motion detection is very sensitive and even the swith between color and b/w mode will trigger a recording. Also, beware of spider webs in front of the camera as that movement will trigger motion detection as well. Overall, a great value. Remote access on phone, tablet, or desktop works great.

This is an awesome product.  I was looking for a DIY home security system.  The installation was a breeze and the price was perfect..  What really impressed me was the color resolution during the day and splendid "night vision" at night.  When I first performed a "test" of the night vision to see what it would look like, I placed one camera in a pitch dark room.  I looked at the feed and felt there had to be a light on or something...NADA!! no light but AWESOME video feed in pitch black darkness....I was SOLD and would highly recommend!!!  Also, customer service is excellent.  Had a small issue setting up default features on DVR.  Customer support responded same day and resolved the issue in a few hours....

Product is good quality it's has good clear picture which if connected to router you can view from smartphone or computer. The only problem I had was cameras went out on several occasions, but they replaced them without a problem. I like my system very much.

I am extremely pleased with my system. Great resolution, great even in nightvision mode (especially in areas of my house that are totally black). I had trouble viewing my feeds on my Mac laptop and smartphone, but, I spoke to an AMAZING tech named Michel who worked at my router settings, etc. until he got it all working. THANKS!!!!

The security system works as advertised. The hard ware is quality. The DVR is easy to use and the cameras work as described. But... I was shorted the owners manual and DVR programing disc. When I contacted the manufacturer instead of them sending the shorted items I got a run around. This is a high tech system and really should come with an owners manual etc. to make available its high tech features.
