One of the two cameras was linked to a previous owner, I could not install this camera as I did not have the password and had no way to contact the original installer. It was up to me to prove to Defender Guard that I did Not Steal this camera!! They sent me a camera that I paid them for and it was up to me to prove that to them. How nuts is that?

Nothing wrong with the camera. This one requires a router and we can't hook it up to one outside which is where we wanted the camera installed. Guess I should have just ordered a wifi only that goes with the Phoenix Monitor. I will be returning it for one I can add on to my other Defender monitor which I love. My phone just doesn't pick it up because of the poor cell service. I shall always buy another Defender again though. Best camera ever.

Works great. Have 2 others that I've had for 9 months and like them enough to get another. I like that it doesn't require a month fee. Plenty of storage included, I do erase videos regularly. Better picture than most other cameras that I've seen. App is easy to use.

The physical cameras are great. Excellent wide angle view, HD, motion detection, night vision, etc. Everything that I would expect in home security system, all at a great price. My only complaint is the way the data is managed on the device(s) or in the app. I find it rather odd that there is no option to delete individual recordings from the device. The only way to remove recordings is to completely format the SD card. I know that if I want to keep certain recordings, I can send them to my phone or pull the SD card and copy off of there, but that isn't the most convenient or intuitive way to manage data in my opinion. Other than that, this has been a great product that I would recommend to others.

The cameras are relatively easy to install and configure and function entirely as promised. They provide an excellent image in daylight and also at night in lighted areas but not if the surveilled area is entirely dark. I addressed this by installing sensor activated lights in the blacked-out areas. It would be convenient if I could display the live view on my PC but this is not supported by the software, which is restricted to Apple or Android phone use via 2.4 GHz WiFi. This could probably be worked around by using a large Apple of Android tablet as a "security monitor" to continuously access live view, though I haven't tested this theory yet. The supplied 16Gb Micro-SD card is adequate for most users and to get the system up and running but I personally intend to replace it with a 128Gb card when I can. Still, all that being said, I have to rate this home security product highly for ease of installation & use, quality of hardware and clarity of image.
