Delahey Wooden Storage Box

We weren't going to buy this bench after reading some of the other reviews about difficulty in assembly, color, damage during delivery, etc. However, after searching numerous stores and the internet for a bench that was NOT plastic, had great storage, and didn't cost a fortune, we kept coming back to this bench at Walmart! When it arrived, one panel did have damage but it isn't visible after we assembled it. It does take TWO people to assemble the lid to the box. My husband held the lid and pressed his knee against it while I attached the hinges. I recommend attaching the outer hinges first, then the lid is still and stable while you put in the screws into the middle hinges. The screws are TINY! I am happy with the color and VERY happy with the storage. It holds 5 noodles, 5 beach towels, a rolled up float, a bag of dive toys, and our swim suits!! All of the sides and top are solid but the bottom is open slats. We have it partially covered by a porch. I also love how the lid closes SLOWLY! We attached the cushion with velcro strips. The ONLY complaint I have is that the stain comes off when it gets wet and stained our deck. The stains came off with a little elbow grease and Magic Eraser, but we'll have to put something on the bottom of each leg. That's why we gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Otherwise, we're VERY happy with the look, storage, and cost! Might buy another one!! I included two pictures, but they were taken at night and I had to compress them to load them. So, I hope they turn out OK!

I bought this storage box for my living room. It is a perfect window seat (with the cushion) and I highly recommend it. I assembled the entire thing by myself and it took me less than an hour. Everyone who visits compliments me on it. Very sturdy product and has lots of room inside, which I use for comforters, games, etc... Perfect addition indoors or outdoors.

We bought this box to match our Delahey sectional and table and chair set. It has exceeded our expectations in terms of look, quality and functionality. It's very roomy inside and we fit all our outdoor toys as well as some things we keep outside for the dogs etc. It's so nice to be able to hide that stuff. It has a slow close hinge so I don't have to worry about the top slamming down on tiny hands. When closed, the box has a nice platform for people to sit on, or kids can use it as a tabletop to play on. People can set a plate or a drink down on it as an end table. We haven't used it as a seat but the box would be nice with a cushion on top. You also can't beat the price for a solid wood box with nice hardware. When the box arrived some of the pieces did not match up. We very easily sent it back and got a new one. The new one was perfect. Overall the box was worth this very slight inconvenience.

Excellent value and material - had shopped online for chest for swimming pool supplies and the price for this one was much lower than the others and is wood and not plastic. Slats in bottom allow for water to drain which is a nice feature. Attaching the lid was a little tricky but laying the chest on it's back made it easier than following the directions. Also make sure to assemble the side panels with the rubber stoppers in front - I made the mistake of installing them at the back and had to start over.

We purchased this a couple of weeks ago. Looks exactly like the picture. The only downside is the top had cracks in it. I oiled the entire storage box to help with the summer heat. I called and the lid is going to be replaced asap it is back ordered about 4 weeks. I was very happy with the customer service and got thru immediately. I recommend two people putting the top on.
