Delta - Newport Combo Dresser and Changing Table, White

I would never buy another Delta product again! I could not believe the quality of this dresser! Not only did the holes not come pre drilled but I had to cut the boards that go in the drawers and make my own measurements for the fittings to fit correctly! I have put together many different types of furniture and this was by far the worst! I know they say you get what you pay for and if that is true this dresser should of cost no more than $50!!! I'll be lucky if it makes it to my sons 1st birthday!

Wow, I have never been so frustrated with a piece of furniture before. Not only the assembly (because of the gazillion pieces) takes up half the day, the final product is crooked, flimpsy, with gaps everywhere. We had to take apart some pre-assembled pieces & reposition them for better fitting. It shouldn't have cost $250 with all the work that you have to put into it. 100 bucks would be the appropriate price.

This changing table/dresser was as expected and is good for the price. It has a bright white finish and feels sturdy once assembled. It was difficult to assemble. It took my husband and father (who's a carpenter) nearly 3 hours to complete it. When it was assembled, there were some gaps where the wood pieces meet that could not be forced together, so looks a bit bad in places. But as I said, these gaps don't really make it feel any less sturdy. Overall I'm pleased with the finished product and would buy it again.

My wife and I were on the hunt for a new dresser for our daughter before her arrival in Sept. 08. We had initially picked out a unit from Baby R Us, but the dresser we wanted was out of stock and only available for purchase online. We looked around and could not find anything in the $200 - $300 price range that met our needs. So I reluctantly decided to check with Walmart (not a big fan of super corporations) and found 3 possible choices for the dresser. It was very hard to choose simply by looking on the internet. Product photos are rarely truthful, so I looked at the product reviews which helped make my decision to purchase this unit. This item has a lot of space! That was my primary interest. The drawers fit all the clothes, blankets, and towels we have for baby. The side storage is large and deep with a shelf divider. The table area for the baby is larger than we need, so this allows us to keep certain supplies on top of the unit for easy access. I am extremely happy with the storage capacity. I understood before purchasing that "furniture in a box" is not going to be as sturdy or durable as normal product. I look at this purchase as "disposable furniture" because one day it will fall apart. I am OK with that as long as we get a least 5 -6 years out of it. The dresser as a whole is structurally sound. The only part I do not care for is the "cardboard" backer, it is kind of weird to put together and seems flimsy. The drawers are decent, not perfect, but they get the job done and move in and out very nicely. I will be getting new custom knobs. The knobs that come in the box are cheap and will eventually become loose. The side door was a challenge to align correctly. But once you find the sweet spot, it opens and closes very snuggly. All the parts, pieces, and hardware were in the box. Although the side board of the dresser had a little scuff, probably from the manufacturer. But nothing was broken. The build time will take ±3 hours. You will need a phillips head screw driver, a drill and hammer. Some of the holes are not drilled out and turning crews by hand will give you some nasty blisters. The build is not complicated, but if you attempt to put this together by yourself, certain stages can be awkward. Overall I am happy with this item. It is larger than I had expected and the storage space is great!

This changing table/dresser is really nice. Great size, good quality. The only problem we had is that it came with Part Number 15 (one of the sides) cracked. The manual says not to return the dresser to Walmart, but to request the defective part to the manufacturer. We emailed the customer support and filled up a form on their website as well. After a week not hearing back from the manufacturer, my husband called them, and they informed us that they could not send us that specific part because it was too big and we should return the changing table/dresser to Walmart. Very nice piece of furniture!!! Just do not rely on the manufacturer sending ANY piece to you if its either a missing or defective part. I would recommend just return the dresser to Walmart and get another one.
