I bought this bike after I decided to do a 31 mile bike race, my very first. I didn't realize how expensive road bikes are. I ordered this bike for the price and had it shipped site to store. They put it together at no additional charge. I have been training on it for the past couple ofweeks and have few complaints. My training rides range anywhere from 10 miles to 22 miles and the 31 mile race is just a few days away. My only complaint, as I saw on some of the other reviews, is the handle bars. They are very wide, and the brakes are oddly placed so when I'm riding with myhands on top of the bars and need to brake, I have to completly change positions. This makes it a little scary if you need to brake fast. If you can get past that, the bike rides fine. I know I will need to upgrade if I continue to do races but it is certainly fine for a starter bike.

Performance: No complaints I've had this bike for over 6 moths now and I use it every other day to go to school or just for going out on rides. So far I have no complaints what so ever on the bikes performance. I was a bit worried the back tube on my tire might need replacing soon from reading other customers riviews. But they have held up pretty good. Even after running over unnoticed pot holes every now and then in these busy city streerts of chicago. And adding weight on to the bike rack (I purchased seperatly). I guess as long as you know how to maintain your bike and it's parts (Not over or under inflating tires) this bike will be a great purchse at a good price. A few mods. on these would make it a perfect bike: Only thing I can complain about is the small amount of room given where the water bottle cage is at. I had to replace it with one that has a strap to fit a smaller sized water bottle, because it's still difficult to fit an average sized one. One more thing, there is nowhere for me to mount my Bike lock holder. The frame has an odd not round shape thru out the bike.

I'm a student who uses this bike primarily to get from where i live to school and occasionally go on a couple of bike trails with a group of friends (~15miles). this bike is definitely worth the price. only complaint is that the grip for the breaks are too wide for my hands at the angle which the handles are pre-installed in, but this can be easily remedied if you change the angle such that the brakes are angled to the ground. also the seat is uncomfortable for long rides, but which bike comes with a comfortable seat to begin with right? and of course it's not as light as the higher end road bikes (giant/specialized/cannondales) but definitely lighter than used roadbikes you can't get for this price. the advertised color is incorrect: instead of the silver blue black shown here, you get a blue frame with yellow cable housing and minimal silver stickered logos. but if you're not too picky it's a great bike.

I purchased this bike online a month ago. I was riding a mountain bike and really struggling up hills. This bike has make all the difference. I love riding it and with 21 gears...it's so much easier to get up those long or steep hills. I did replace the seat with a womens special cut out. The gears are a little loud at times, but for the price...it's a great deal for a beginners bike.

I bought this bike because, like other reviewers have said, it is great value for money. Online ordering was great, in store pickup was smooth and they assembled the bike too. Once I started riding it I noticed that the gears shift with difficulty....the chain came off a few times when changing from 2nd to 1st gear. I have got the hang of it now though. The brakes are hard for me to use (small hands?) and the gears work like a hybrid bike so are badly designed for this road bike. The tape that is wrapped around the handle bars has already started to come off and I have had the bike less than a month. My son has started riding it now so I guess I should have bought the men's bike. I will probably get him that one as at the end of the day this is a good bike to get for a first time road bike.
