I had my daughter-in-law set this up and use for me as I didn't have time. She had to get a new cutting head before she could even use it. She said it was rather difficult to set-up, but the online video did help a bit. She made vinyl pumpkins to apply to shirts she made for friends and the machine did a great job of cutting those out. Our general consensus would be to spend more and buy a Cricket.

I received this Brother DesignNCut Home Electric Cutting Machine through the Spark Reviewer Program. I chose it because it appeared to be something I would enjoy using in some of my home projects. The unit arrived unbroken,in a well packaged and protected carton. Included also were the basic tools needed to get started: standard cutting blade installed in holder,standard mat,spatula,AC adapter,Power cord,and calibration sheet. Instructions were included in several languages,with set-up steps clear and easy to understand. There is also an online video tutorial available for set-up and use. This Electronic Cutting Machine offers a Very large selection of patterns and project suggestions,and is a useful addition to home crafting tools. Unfortunately,THIS technologically challenged Senior had a difficult time coordinating the steps between the unit,my mobile device, and my PC. It took a few Days,and Several attempts before I was able to connect it to my home WiFi. Then,I found I had to connect to a free site,ScanNCut Canvas,and set up an ID and password,in order to access the multitude of patterns available. The selections and suggested project options are Very interesting! And, I'm excited to attempt to use some of them! But for ME,it's been such a Challenge to get started,that I've not yet used any. Of note : I Enjoy Challenges! I Sew as a hobby,(I am self-taught),and I've made wedding gowns,prom dresses,coats,draperies,sofa covers,pillows,etc. Another hobby is building furniture (from kits,with instructions),and I've completed entertainment centers,bookcases,cabinets,tables n chairs,desks,computer tables,etc. Most of the items from my projects are Still in use,Many years later! So YES,I enjoy Challenges! THIS Home Electronic Cutting Machine will NOT defeat ME! ;) I'm looking forward to using THIS Machine in future projects!

With the new Design n cut home electronic cutting machine by brother ,3c200 it takes it to the next step for me .I do spray can art and this is the bomb for those small details.....A dream come true for me. easy to use and right on the nose ...

Let me start off by saying, no. Just no. I am not sure what brother was thinking when they decided to come out with this particular scan n cut but absolutely not. I have used the previous scan n cut model and had absolutely no issue with it. This one seems to be nothing but problems. First off, let's start with the fact that it's wireless. Sure, that is fine, but even just connecting to your internet with this machine is a huge pain. Why would they make it all push button and not a little easier with a touch screen so that you can see what you're doing and do it a little easier. Next let's talk about the fact that it says it's compatible with like android 5 or later? I have an updated Samsung note 5. I did everything by the book, and while I can access it on the mobile web on my phone, without all the features might I add, you can't do anything with the app, it's useless. So you can also connect it to your laptop if you'd like, but they don't provide a usb cord for this. Why? Why not add the cord in so the people that have issues connecting wirelessly can just do so without having to buy something else. Other than these major issues, the machine cuts fine. I would NOT recommend it for ease of use, I would recommend the original scan n cut.
