Dimplex Electric Stove

I bought this heater to help heat a room with very high ceilings. Just needed a little something to take the chill off. What I got was a big surprise. I have been able to lower the thermostat on the gas heat (thank goodness) and still be quite comfortable just by using this heater. Looks great in the room and makes it have a very cozy feeling.

I bought this stove heater for my mother for Christmas, and I can't tell you how much she loves it. Not only does it heat well and is so adorable, but I was amazed how real the fire looks. I have shopped around and seen many of these in person, and so many of them look fake...not this one. Although it is small, it adds so much ambiance to her room, it really looks and feels warm and cozy. I caught myself staring several times at the fire as if it was real! She has bad arthritis and is always cold, so this has been the perfect gift for her. It heats a good sized room just as stated. You can feel the difference as soon as you walk in her living room from any other room or from outside. This is ideal for anyone who is trying to save $ or has problems breathing dry stuffy air from running their central/gas heat as I do. I have a good sized home with 2 regular wood burning fireplaces, but rarely use them because you can't just leave to go somewhere when you've started a fire. Those are more ideal for staying in for the evening when you know you're not going anywhere else. So I am considering buying a couple of these for myself for daytime. I highly recommend and don't believe you can go wrong with this heater. Oh, and did I mention how adorable it is...cute, cute, cute!

I was somewhat skeptical about this product. This heater works best if you use it along with your main heat source. It just happen that my gas furnace blower went out 2 weeks after I bought this. This heater was able to take some of the chill out of the room, but couldn't get out of the fifties. However the room I had placed it in was 11 by 12 with 10 foot ceilings, so I guess it did as best as it could. Like I said it works really good along with my furnace. I was able to run my furnace at a lower tempature and was cozy. When running the fake flames looks good and very realistic. My electric bill went up slightly around $27 monthly.

This stove was purchased as a replacement for a larger stove that stopped working last year. It is for the lower level of a split level home and there was a definite difference not having a stove downstairs last year. The new stove arrived just before Thanksgiving along with the cold weather. This weekend it has hardly been turned off with the temps in the teens. It's warm and cozy downstairs once again and this stove puts out as much heat as the older larger one did. The price went down within seven days of receiving the new stove and Walmart credited me the difference immediately after I emailed them to ask about it. Very good service and product.

I purchased this from another retailer in June, and didn't use it until this winter. While the stove is very nice, the heater quit blowing. When I called Dimplex they said it sounded like a heater blower and they would send me another heater blower, and I am supposed to install it myself. That is a strange warranty to just keep sending parts and you have to install them yourself.
