Dirt Devil Quick Power Stick Vacuum

I bought this to vacuum hardwood floors. It has to charge for 24 hours to do one room. I also have to use the carpet setting since there is not enough suction with the bare floor setting. If you need to vacuum a quick spill, this works fine. But don't expect it to work for regular cleaning.

I purchased this product at my local WalMart. I wanted something for light/daily cleaning of my kitchen floor (hardwood). My first and ONLY concern is that I wanted a vacuum to pick up crumbs throughout the kitchen. This vacuum was OKAY for the first week. I wasn't blown away by it's suction power, but I thought it was OKAY. After the first week, the suction just became TERRIBLE! No matter how slow I vacuumed, or how many times I went over an area, it just stopped picking up. I'm not vacuuming pet hair or big chunks of dog food. I'm just trying to pick up crumbs that end up on the kitchen floor. I've taken the collection canister out several times, emptied it, cleaned the filter. NOTHING. This thing is just JUNK!! I regret that I have thrown all the packaging away...so there is probably NO chance of a refund. Here I sit with a $30 piece of junk that will probably end up sitting in a landfill for the next 100 years.

It works well for tile or hardwood floors. I hurt my back and this works well for me. I don't have to sweep the floor as often and when I do I just vaccum up the dirt pile. I am on my second one, the first one I bought fell over and stopped working. I bought another one because of the value for the price. If it had been more than $30 I would have considered another brand.

I bought a Dirt Devil Cordless Stick-Vac for myself 2 years ago. Liked it so much I bought one recently as a gift for my son. My main reason for purchasing it was to keep after the kitty litter that gets tracked around from the litter box. It does everything I expected it to do. Son has two cats and the same problem I had before. This cordless vac is lightweight and easy to use on bare floors. Easy to empty, store, and recharge. I was surprised it was so inexpensive. None of our stores seem to carry these any longer, so I went to Walmart.com after seeing their TV ads for Site-To-Store purchases with free shipping. Found exactly what I wanted and saved $18 shipping for this and an additional item. Loved using that shopping method!

I initially bought this cleaner to vacuum stairs, since my big 12 amp Eureka was a pain to carry up and down those stairs. I wasn't expecting much for the power and the price, but was pleasantly surprised at the cleaning ability. Of course, it is NO match for a full size vac, so don't expect it to be. I started out with the stairs and a throw rug. Much to my surprise, this little vac actually lifted the nap on the rug. It did an excellent job on the staircase and I wasn't complaining about my back from lifting a heavy cleaner. In addition, the vac head is just the right size for the stair treads! Just a couple of minor issues: The dirt/dust filter is very quick to fill up as is the dirt cup. When it does, suction really drops off. The charge is only good for about a half hour or less, so the phrase, "QUICK pick ups" is apt. However, it is also good to note that this inexpensive and relatively low powered vac IS filling with dirt and dust SO quickly. After much research, I have concluded that I could have spent much more and still gotten no better results. On balance, it is worth the money for what it is and does. I am pleased. One more note: as with any cordless appliance, let the battery FULLY run down before recharging and you will have a stronger and longer lasting vac.
