Dirt Devil Ultra Swivel Glide Upright

Middle-aged female with lots of vacuuming experience. Children grown and gone. Currently have 3 cats, 1 long haired dog, messy birds, and a messy husband in residence. My previous vacuum (another brand) is bagless & a nuisance to empty dirt cup & clean filter; it's heavy & hard to push. This Dirt Devil vacuum is bagged, is lightweight and rear wheel swivel casters make it easy to maneuver. It has lots of suction and cleaning power. The unit has a tendency to skip across the carpet rather than glide when pulling in reverse due to suction and forward motion of beater brush. I like the on-board tools and most especially the rotating brush attachment. It was my main reason for purchase due to animal hair and birdseed mess. Able to quickly attach brush & clean small tight places w/ hose extension. Rotating brush attachment does good job on getting pet hair off upholstered furniture. One big negative is the tightness of flex hose. It is somewhat short and not very flexible but kind of stiff (may loosen up after awhile). The unit will tip over when using hose & attachments due to lack of sufficient length & lack of slackness in hose. Be careful. I almost tipped over several times and vacuum cleaner handle nearly missed TV (glass) screen & glass cabinet door while vacuuming nearby w/ hose attachments. Not long enough to reach high places like curtains & ceiling. Best used on furniture and floor. Overall, does good job & is fine for my purposes. I would recommend due to ease of use & price, suction power and features.

I bought this dirt devil a few weeks ago. It is an attractive model. I am unhappy with the suction of it. I have a cat and when I use it to clean the carpet, I can feel litter hitting my feet and ankles. It does an ok job - but I wish I had bought something else.

I have only used this product 3 times now. But so far it has done everything I need it to do. The head of the vacuum is quite large and is nice to quickly go over carpets. The suction tools work better than any I have ever used. I have 3 girls so we shed a lot of hair. I have noticed that hair easily gets tangled in the rotating brush at the bottom of the vacuum. I don't know if there is anything to keep this from happening though. So after every vacuum I have flept the vacuum over to pull out the extra hair from the brush so I wouldn't burn a belt or anything. Overall I like it.

I just got this vacumn, I also have a old bissel vacumn that I used just before using this one to see if there was a difference in my carpet demeanor..Boy, was I presently surprised to see that after revacuming my whole house this vacumn bag was almost full.. I am truly amazed by this vacumn..

I purchased this vacuum about a week ago and have since used it about 3 different times throughout the house. Every time it has worked wonderfully, picking up nastiness that I didn't even know was there. The spinning brush attachment rocked my world on the stairs and best of all, it handles dog hair like a pro. For the price, you can't beat it!
