Mindblown STEM 12 in 1 Solar Robot Toys, 190 Pieces

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids enjoyed putting this together. They are 8&9 and were able to follow the directions with ease. They were very excited that it worked after they built it. Great way to introduce kids to STEM and get the interested young.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my 9 year old, he has been very interested in building and science lately. He is very smart for a 9 year old, but has the typical 9 year old attention span. We started this togather and he was very excited, after an hour though he kinda fell off, and it was left up to me. Took me about 3 hours total to get built, let it charge for about 3.5 hours in direct sunlight, and it lasted about 35 minutes with continuous play before we had to let it charge again. It took alot of patience to put togather, but I do enjoy these types of projects. Pieces are small and can be difficult to place, but once it is togather it's actually quite easy to change designs, which my 9 year old is able to accomplish himself. He absolutely loves playing with it, and is very fascinated by it. Overall I think it is a very good learning toy, but definitely takes time and patience.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is cool building set. It comes with options to build 11 different solar robots. I worked on 1 model with my 9 year old son, who is quite the builder. However, we had a really tough time! The pieces are labeled on the main frames, but once you punch them out there are no labels on the actual parts and it's hard to keep track of the pieces. Many of the pieces are super small and don't snap together well. It seems an ok quality toy in general, but many of the pieces are not well engineered. The steps are pretty detailed, which was nice, but the pieces don't stay together and there is no way that a kid could hold all the pieces at once that some of the steps require. I think an older kid, maybe pre-teen or teenager, could do well with this kit.

The kit comes with the parts to build 12 different robots, so there are a lot of pieces. Getting everything ready and organized took a bit, but kept them entertained for hours. Once everything was ready, assembly was pretty quick and not overly complicated. This is a great, hands on, toy set that not only challenged them, but helped them to learn all while having a good time. They were blown away by getting to see, first hand, how they could power their new little toy with the power of the sun! With 12 different configurations to choose from, they can't wait to take this one apart and build another one. I am thoroughly impressed with this set and can't wait to get them more to try out.
