My son is 3, and absolutely LOVES this Lightning McQueen. He has a smaller one (think Hot Wheels size) that he carried around everywhere but this one has taken its place. He plays with it every day and loves the lights and phrases he gets when he presses the button on top. I love this toy for a few different reasons: 1) The size is perfect for a small child. It is big but not too big. 2) It has already been crashed into the walls and dropped a few times, like toddlers do, and it has held up and works and sounds and looks just like it did when he first got it a couple of weeks ago. Trust me, that is no small feat. 3) The lights keep him engaged and the phrases actually sound like Lightning's voice. 4) It rolls and pushes well, and when pushed it does drift a little instead of flipping over like a lot of toy cars do. Overall, I would definitely recommend this toy to anyone whose child or grandchild has a Lightning obsession. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

First off my son is obssesed with lightning mcqueen so this toy was an instant hit.He was really excited when he got it. Its a decent size toy. It lights up bright blue when you press the button on it and it makes really cool sounds. My son has played with this toy non stop. This is overall a awesome toy for a four year old boy. My son is a huge Cars fan! So we have tons of Pixar/Mattel Cars and this is definitely one of his favorites. It's a nice size about 8 1/2" long and just over 3 1/2" wide. The plastic is sturdy and holding up very well to being smashed into a variety of things, so far no chips, broken parts or even scratches! The colors are all vibrant and grabs the kids' attention. The lightning bolt on the side of the car lights up, and I was very pleased that it's so obvious and bright and not just a dim flicker like several other toys he has. I love that the sounds are mostly motor noises with a few short phrases interspersed, which allows for lots of imaginative races around the house! Now about the only real con that I can come up with is the decals are just stickers, which wouldn't be an issue but ours came with air bubbles in the lightning bolts and I am wondering how well they will hold up, but it doesn't take away from the play. Otherwise this is an awesome toy and has kept my son and his daycare friends entertained since it's arrival and is obviously a new favorite. My three year old son is a big fan of all things McQueen, especially the Ice racers series. When he saw this toy, which is much larger than his die cast cars, his eyes totally lit up. Luckily the package is easy to remove, so It was in his hands in less than 30 seconds and he was off gleefully discovering all of McQueen's fun words and phrases. He really enjoyed the icy blue lights on the side of the car. That was unique to many of his car toys and really kept his interest. He also loved hearing McQueen talk as he raced him down the hallway. By bedtime I could hear him echoing "Ka-chill" which is an icy new take on McQueens classic phrase. After bedtime I had a chance to look over the toy and was happy to see that despite my sons tough and tumble play racing he showed so signs of wear. This is a really cool car! My 4.5 year old son is a huge Cars fan and we have a lot of Lightning McQueen cars but this one is definitely his favorite. The sound and color effects are really awesome - not too loud or bright. I really love the blue light up bolt and it's been a lot of fun to see in the dark. Also, the car is very sturdy as it's fallen off many sofa and coffee table cliffs and gotten into many crashes with other toys and still works perfectly.
