ALL GOOD -NO PROBLEMS // Previously I was wrapping super small drill bits with tape to fit standard Dremel chuck. Now I am a real driller.

I had 3 chucks got stuck on me because I fastened them without bit inside - the first to see how small it get and the others by mistake. I felt stupid because I did it 3 times, now after reading other reviews I still feel stupid but I understand it is also the chuck to be blamed.

I've been through 2 of these chucks. They have both Jammed in a closed position and will not open. Some times getting them to grip is also a problem. I'm a sail boat rigger and take a cordless tool up masts to work with. Not having to deal with a tiny screw while hanging in the rigging seemed like a great idea. It just hasn't worked well.

How about casting a hex portion on the chuck in between or above the knurled portions. That way when the chuck tightens itself a little too tight you may be able to use just a little bit of leverage applied by the collet key wrench that come with the Dremel kit. I have had keyless chuck battery operated drill that have had similar problems. It is more than a little annoying when it happens. Figure incorporate this solution and I would change my rating

I had previously replaced the chuck that came with the tool after it had seized up and no amount of effort could free it. Now the replacement chuck has also seized up. I use my Dremel tool occasionally so it's not as if I had worn these components out. Now I hesitate to buy a replacement chuck. There must be a reason for all the issues seen here with this item. I always hand tighten so now I'm wondering if I'm missing something.
