Super easy to use with great results. not only is the 511E great for buffing and polishing but its also awesome at removing sicker residue from lables. Additionally I found it great at removing burrs after making cuts and drilling light metals like aluminum and brass.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I see these getting a lot of low-star reviews because they wear out fast. It's true… if you apply a lot of force. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking applying more pressure removes material faster. This isn't true. You just need to apply enough pressure for the edge of the buff to maintain contact. The whole point of these buffs spinning at thousands of RPMs is that the speed of the tool, plus the abrasiveness of these buffs is what removes material.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used these a few months back to remove burs from copper pipe I was preparing for a project my wife was doing. She needed 16 quarter inch sections and they needed to be smooth, look good, and be clean so as not to get anything on the rest of the project. Not only did these remove the burs, they polished up the pieces and made them look great - the process was rather abusive and I went through three or four of them to get the job done, but when complete, they exceeded her expectations. A note, be patient when you are doing something like I was, it took some fiddling with the speed to get it "just right" but once dialed in - awesome results.
These little buffs are perfect for pre-polishing my silver, before I give it the final polish with the jewelers rouge. Normally I would spend a lot of time using various sandpaper grits to get a smooth finish. The buffs had quickly replaced that time-consuming task. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I was thinking about this product for sometime before I actually got a chance to buy and use these polishing wheels. They just were not available in my small town. Great concept with the Ez-Lock way of attaching them to Dremel but was little disappointed with the life of abbrasive. With light hand and depending on your project someone could get longer use out this product. With that said I still buy and use from time to time. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
