All 4 batteries had leaked before I even opened the package up. I don't have my receipt so I can't get my money back. I see a bunch of other reviews on the internet are saying the same thing about their packages of Duracell. Where's the Quality Control?
I was a stalwart Duracell customer for decades. Recently, however, I have had so much tool damage from Duracell leaking batteries that I gave up and went with the rabbit competitor, much less leakage. At first I figured it was a bad batch/bad year. Continued problems even sitting in storage, under perfect conditions convinced me otherwise. The company I manage has also switched entirely to different brands, with better results.
Bought them about six years ago, and left them in my bedroom when I moved out for university. Thought they'd be fine because of the 10 year guarantee. Moved back recently and they have all leaked or broken. Don't pay the extra money for this brand, it's nothing special.
See photos attached. 1. In the package, batteries that have a 10yr warranty and expire 2022, have leaked by 2019. 2. In my Bose headphones case, reserve battery with expiration date Dec 2024 leaked (damaging case). For future reference, this post is from April 1, 2020 (and not an April's fools joke)
I live in tornado alley, so batteries are a life necessity, I check my batteries every Spring and I have had more stuff ruined by Duracell batteries than all other brands put together. I buy different manufactures because I am aware that their could be manufacturing defects in a particular lot, but Duracell is consistent in leaky batteries. Not to mention that every year I throw away Duracell batteries from storage that are 2-3 years short of their shelf life.
