First, let me say that Duracell provided me with a free sample of this product. Having said that, I'm not particularly impressed by these batteries in any way. The Duracell Quantum batteries are apparently the longest-lasting alkaline battery, which is a great thing to advertise. I've had the product for a little over a month, and my battery usage is really high for many things. However, for those things, I use rechargeable batteries. Products ranging from video game controllers, to flashlights, to cameras all have their own rechargeable batteries that last much longer than these alkaline ones. I would recommend anyone who needs to have a constant charge to look into rechargeable batteries instead for their more important products. For anyone who grew up in the 90s, the charge meter on these batteries are really an old gimmick. You can find some fun in pressing to see the charge, but I'm not 10 years old anymore; the meter is usually irrelevant, since a battery with a low charge won't work properly anyways. An example would be the Quantums that I placed in my clocks around the house. Once the battery loses enough charge, the clock won't tick upwards anymore. For some, the meter could be helpful in knowing how low the battery's charge is, but if your product isn't working with one set of batteries, it doesn't matter what the charge is: you'll need to swap them anyways. And I doubt the casual consumer will be opening up their battery compartments just to check on the charge meter of a product in use. A battery like the Quantum battery is simply overkill for any casual consumer. I could see its applications in workplace settings where batteries are a life-or-death situation, but no casual consumer should be paying a premium for these batteries. You'll see a negligible benefit from using them in everyday household products. At best, you could buy a pack of these and save them for important equipment, but for daily use I'd recommend buying the generic batteries that offer a higher battery count for comparable price. Having said that, the Quantum battery is definitely a quality product, and the items I've use them in (clocks and Xbox controllers) have been reliable and they last for a while. But I can't recommend them for the price, quantity, or for daily use. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
As soon as I received these from Duracell they went straight into my Nephew's battery powered Nerf Gun. Great so far, and he's been using it pretty constantly; been three weeks of pretty excessive use. What's even better is that with the power gauge directly on the battery I can tell when it's about to run out of power; meaning I can switch them out before they die and thus, 'the meltdown" : ) (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
These batteries seem pretty high quality. Having the feature of being able to check the level of power on the battery so I have a general idea of when the battery is dying. I'm currently using the batteries in my television remotes and they're working fantastic. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
I received may Duracell quantum batteries from bzzagent. At first glance the look very cool. I have been mostly using energizer batteries in my kids toys. I can't wait to see how well these Duracell quantum last in there everyday toy. In the next few day I will give an update on how the batteries are performing. I go through tons of AA batteries as my boyfriend and I use them in so many gadgets. Most frequently, our gaming consol controllers. Anyone who frequently plays video games knows how quickly you go though batteries. For purposes of this review I did an experiment. I put our normal brand of batteries in one controller and the Duracell® Quantum AA batteries I was sent for free in return for an unbiased review in another. Both controllers were used for roughly the same amount of time. I took the Quantum batteries out to test the powercheck™ strip and as you can see from the photo attached the power is still full! I think I am completely sold on this brand of batteries as far as using them in my most frequently used battery operated gadgets. Absolutely worth the price point.
