Has good power to get the chipping done. Good, clear instructions included. Moderate noise compared to other chippers. I really like that it has a bin to collect the chips, it's helpful. Would buy again.
I trimmed 6 trees on my property that had not been trimmed in years. I had a ton of branches to chip. This chipper did an awesome job. I cannot express how pleased I was with this product. The wood mulch is great, and I plan on using it in my garden. I saw a video after I bought, but before I used it, comparing this electric chipper with 2 others, and the person doing the comparison chose this chipper as the best of the 3. I used this for hours at a time for 6 consecutive days, and it worked like a champ. FYI, I don't normally write reviews for products that I purchase, but I felt like I needed to write this one.
First, in all of the YouTube videos I have seen, it indicates that the branches are somewhat self-feeding. This is not the case at all. When branches get down to 3-4 inches, they enter into the feed chamber and get bunched up. You have to remove the top to get them out as they will not chip or mulch. What a disappointment. Am returning.
As you'll see from other reviews, this chipper can't handle the thickest, heaviest branches; so far as I know, no consumer chipper-shredder can. Keep this in mind while shopping. But I have the advantage that I can use what I can't chip up as firewood -- or at least, kindling. That's why I've jammed mine only Once. (And cleared it fairly quickly.) What I really need is a way to dispense with all those branches that fall from the woods that nearly surround my yard, and which are too small in thickness to burn safely. This machine makes short work of them. A paper shopping bag will hold what's left of a surprisingly large pile. Shopping bags full of chips can be safely burned (especially in a wood stove, as I do) if they're not wanted for mulch or compost -- for which they work great! -- and disappear quickly into your lawn or garden. The size of the included bin is a limitation, but I find it takes a LOT of chipping to fill it up. Although you *can* use this machine for shredding leaves and garden waste, I don't because pushing all that stuff through the little slot is more time and work than it's worth, and besides, I have a separate shredder/mulcher for that. (I recommend the same to the reader.) Incidentally, my chipper arrived with a bin that was cracked (though still usable) in shipment. The manufacturer is sending me a replacement under warranty; be sure to register yours with the manufacturer!
Works great on dry brush and even green sticks. Almost auto feed for long straight branches. Ease of assembly and use are great. Not to mention the blades are double sided and easily flipped with the hex key provided. Great item!
