Keep the hanging hook separate and not inside the hanger.
Squirrels can no longer feast causing multiple refills. The most they can manage is dangle down and eat loose seed on feeder.
It's small enough to hang so the squirrels cannot get at it and keeps the crows away too.
This feeder is well made and the squirrels cannot get to the bird feed.
We love it, it's easy to fill and it last a long time because it holds so much seed. The birds also love it.
