I have had this tank for a little over a month now. It is a wonderful tank for my 7 Tiger Barbs. The filter is so quiet, my friends ask if it is working. The front allows for a great view of the whole tank. I love it. I would recommend this to anyone.

I love it! It was easy to set up and has a nice, strong light with it! I'm breeding Cherry-shrimps and this is perfect! I used to have a Betta in it and I defenitely can say now, that Bettas WANT to be in small aquariums! My beta ate poorly in the 6 g and hid most of the time. any other fish though will love and need the extra space!!!! I've had mine up and running for almost 8 month now and still love it! the only downside on it is, when you clean the Aqrilique, use a very, very soft sponge in and outside, as Aqurilique offers more stability and safety, is lighter and a clearer to see, BUT will sceatch easily. (Also keep your crazy cat away, while the fish or whatever are perfectly safe in it, kitties tend to go wacko watching the fishies and try to dig their way in through the front which will cause little scratches *lol* If you plan on keeping something it it, that needs Water-Temps in the low or mid 70's, you'll need a Mini-chiller or get a bigger one. witht he light turned on the Water has a pretty constant tremeprature of 79-80 degress (my shrimps love it). My Aquarium will only in the wintertime get cooler than 77 with the light on. The light will warm the water! If you need it cool, you need to get a different one than this, if it's for warm lvoving fishies or creatureds, go for it- safes you the Heater! I came back to upgrade to another, bigger Tank! this one is easy to carefor, assemble and clean! Love it!!!!!

I've purchased two of these from Wal-Mart and haven't had any issues regarding defects or quality. I'm sure there are folks who have had different experiences, but those are the exceptions, not the norm. I own several tanks with hundreds of fish and this tank is a great value in overall price and size. It's large enough to stock with a decent school of fish, and not overtax the filtration or bioload. I have a problem with the water overheating in the warm weather. The small quantity of water will really heat up with the light fixture on, so sometimes I end up dumping ice in the tank to keep from boiling my fish. I also keep the lid propped open with a cork to help dissipate some of the heat outward and turn the light off during the hottest part of the day as well. Another caution is that the filtration system does not have a prefilter, which is handy for us with planted tanks. The intake tube tends to clog up with dead plant debris and slow down the water flow so that the biowheel stops turning. It also means that your filter won't last as long because of all the sludge that builds up quickly on it. I've noticed this is more of a warm weather phenomenon, probably because of the warmer water. This is a constant maintenance issue, which is not cool. (ha, ha) My fix is to use a sponge filter for double filtration as insurance for when the biowheel stops turning and I can't make the time to clean the intake valve right away. Still, despite these problems, the aquarium system is a winner in my book. Best value aquarium system through Wal-Mart online. Nice size, good quality. It's a great small tank for a small school of fish. I keep several dozen fish in mine, I use a hydor sponge filter to help boost filtration, tons of live plants, tiny fish like the pygmaeus and habrosus corydoras, exclamation point rasbora, and celestial pearl danio. I also use a small heater for the cold weather.

I bought this tank for my son for Christmas. When I first recieved this tank and set it up I was surprized at how nice it was for the price. Especially since it had the light and filter already in it. I saw the same tank at Target for 90$ , and I only payed 40$ at Christmass time. However shortly later the glass or should I say plastic began to crack all by itself. One day there were tiny little cracks out of nowhere. Then there were more, then they got bigger. Then I had to buy a new tank after only two months. Very dissapointed.

I recently purchased the aquarium after downsizing from much larger ones. So far this has been a wonderful tank with no problems at all. The filter is quiet, we've added a heater and currently have 2 male guppies and 3 live plants. Hope to add a couple more of both once the tank has cycled. This IS a very small tank though, so the breeds of fish are very limited. Rule of thumb is 1" of fish per gallon of tank, and this is if it's a 'thin' fish, not wide. Definately NOT for goldfish. Do your homework first. If you are limited on space and would enjoy a couple of small fish or a betta, this is the perfect tank!
