Edifier - R1280DBs Powered Bluetooth Computer Speakers, Bookshelf Speakers - 42W RMS - Soundfield Spacializer - Studio Monitors - Wood

I love the speakers however the remote control seems a bit iffy. For example, it takes several attempts to turn the power on and off, similarly switching modes between Bluetooth and optical. Is this a function of the distance from the powered speaker and the remote? I sit about 8 feet away. Is there a more robust version of the remote or perhaps the battery needs to be be replaced. Any advice would be appreciated. I tried calling customer support but never got any response, only kept on hold. Thanks Bruno

I just put the packing boxes in the recycle bin, so it's official. These are fantastic speakers for the money. Lots of flexibility in a relatively small package. I am able to use this set-up to hear my Zoom meetings better (now that people are all in the same room on the Zoom now using lousy central microphones), listen to streaming music from my phone or my TV (connected via the optical cable), and to my Bluetooth turntable across the room. I also added the subwoofer, it is out of the way, under my desk. Most of all, the “system” sounds great - which is the most important thing!

I was looking for a pair of speakers primarily for listening to music while working, I finally found my gem. Edifier has excellent built quality, sounds very nice and has a cool look too. The option to add subwoofer is nice to have, many connectivity options came handy to connect different music sources. The highs, mids and lows are balanced and feel neutral to me - which is best

I've only had the R1280DBs for about a week so they are still being broken in. But so far the impression is very positive. They appear solid and well built. Although I found the included instructions rather light I was able to plug them in connect the two together and get the blue tooth to connect to my MAC. They are a great improvement over the built in MAC speakers. On some music with female voice they sound a bit congested but otherwise are open with good base and treble. But as I said they are still in the break-in stage. At this price point I would certainly recommend them!

These little speakers have amazing range and clarity for less than $150! After listening to Mp4s for years, I have started playing my CDs through these speakers and now when I want to hear great music That's all that will do it. Edifier has delivered a big sound in a small package. Thinking about buying a second set for the family room!
