Conceptually, these are a great idea. Bean bags and games to help children learn their A, B, Cs as well as the differences between the upper case and lower case letters. There are several game ideas that come with the box, and there are ways to utilize them in other creative ways too. There are 26 miniature bean bags that come with the package as well as a drawstring bag. The bean bags were definitely smaller than I had envisioned. I was expecting large bean bags similar to a corn hole toss type of game, but if you look at the picture attached with this review, they are only approximately an 1.5 to 2 inches square (see a standard sized pen for reference). In addition, even though the letters are embroidered onto the bags, there may only be one layer of thread on the embroidery. The “beans” inside each bag feels as if they're surrounded by tissue paper, so they make a crackly noise rather than a simple bean bag feel. Finally, there are no distinguishing lines to tell certain letters apart (e.g N and Z). However, all in all, this is a simple product that can help teach children their alphabets, so this is a good educational / learning tool.
I love the letters. I love the brightness and shape and feel of them, that they have an uppercase and lowercase letter on each bean bag. The stitching of the vowels are red and consonants are blue on the yellow background. GREAT for learning the alphabet. But I want more letters, what child is not going to want to spell with these letters? You're limited unless you buy several sets, spell small words or words with all different letters or only one or two vowels or only have one child playing at one time. Need to have more vowels and the popular consonants. But other than the number of bean bags, the bags have been fun to play with and to spell out words. And keep in mind your age group, they letters are very easily thrown, but are lightweight and do not cause much damage. I'm sure that at some point I'll have to test the washability of the letters, but the letters are stitched into the materials so I don't see a problem with gently washing the bags with mild soap and water.
These alphabet bean bags are a fun educational toy that kids will love playing with. They are a smallish size but that makes them perfect for little ones hands to manipulate them. It is nice that there are upper and lower case letters on each beanbag. Also the colored vowels and consonants are a great learning tool. This will provide a fun and educational experience which is a huge bonus for a toy!
After going through hours of looking for toys that would be perfect for a class of my special children, I decided on these alphabet beanbags. It's a great way for preschoolers to start learning their alphabets and still having the ability to toss brightly colored beanbags around. Great for eye to hand coordination and gross motor skills. Very happy with my choice!
There are twenty-six bean bags representing each alphabet and the bags are bright yellow. Also there is a yellow sturdy cotton bag with a drawstring that holds the bean bags for storage and "Alphabet Bean Bags" sewn on it in blue. The bean bags are enclosed inside of a felt like material and the beads are inside of it and are covered in a plastic material. These bean bags are sewn quite well. All of the consonants are in sewn in blue and the vowels are sewn in red, which is a nice feature to recognize the vowels. Each alphabet bean bag has the uppercase letters on one side and the lowercase letters on the other; this too is a really good feature. I tough tested these bags by throwing them several times (like a child might do) and they did not break. The small beans are so tiny that if a temper tantrum happens :-), they would not hurt. Included in the sturdy cardboard box that holds the bags is an insert called the "Teacher' Guide" and it gives several games and learning activities. These bags are for hands on play and learn for little ones and are a good learning tool for toddlers.
