Great toy that targets fine motor, math, color and other skills!

This was a complete surprise how much we enjoyed this set. I didn't think much when I picked this item thought it might be boring for my 3 year old. Especially when I looked at the packaging of the box, the box I received only has a little boy on it and I thought oh my little girl is going to think this is just for boys. Luckily she didn't pay much attention to it once I placed the batteries inside the drill. She went directly to the drill board and within 30 minutes had all 100 holes with drills nails in them. Getting a toddler to sit and play with any toy for that long is usually unthinkable but it kept her interested. I thought it was a fluke so we put it away and the next day I pulled it out and the exact same thing happen, and she not only was interested in the drill but the accessories that come with it too. Besides the drill it comes with different drill bits that you can interchange with the drill or there is a little hand held tool that can act as a screwdriver and there is also a wrench. This also comes with patterned cards that can be used to help kids use both there motor skills and learn about patterns.

Unfortunately, there are two boys who are playing with this toy and when they really like it, it's hard to referee! The 3 year old could use the drill and play with the pieces but the 5 year old totally got it and used it the way it was supposed to be used! Their father also absolutely enjoyed this activity and spent a couple of hours playing with the boys, not wanting to give up the drill I might add!! It was a great toy and they could make animals and designs out of the pieces they drilled on the board, so I would say a big hit and a good time was had by all!!! Thank you

When I chose this tool set to try and review I had my 2.5 year old son in mind as he loves to use tools just like daddy! It arrive just in time for Christmas and ended up being his favorite gift! He couldn't wait to play with it. It was easy for him to catch on the the forward and reverse options on the drill. He doesn't even bother with the patterns, but as he gets older I think it will add a new aspect to it for him. This set is also great if you need about 15 minutes to prep something and to keep their hands and minds busy and in one place.
