Wonderful item. Plastic base weights them down on patios and sidewalks. Also comes with ground anchors. You poke the light bulbs through slit-holes that hold them firmly. The light string is high quality. The product information was lacking because you cannot tell how the lights fit it into the luminaries and if it was flimsy setup. I decided to wing it and its a good design and quality construction. Perhaps the only downside is this is billed as a seasonal product and won't last long in the sun. I'm using mine on a covered porch.
These looked very nice. Sturdy. However, we did not realize there were not be a way to secure them to our flat roofed house without special brackets, which are not included. If you're sticking them in the ground, they're great. But you have to purchase "parrot" clips/brackets to make them stick to a parapet roof, which, in the month of December are hard to find. They aren't cheap either.
I bought these because the price was better than the FLIC luminaries my neighborhood was purchasing. However, after just a week, the plastic is "curling" in the cold weather. The stakes aren't as long as the stakes that come with the FLIC luminaries, so the stake doesn't hold them as well to the ground. I was excited for the price, but I don't think these will last more than one season. It is a great alternative to the paper bags and candles though.
Very disappointed in this product. They looked fine when put them up but the bags cracked very easily during installation even though we were careful with them. I suspect they're not intended to be used in cooler temperatures even though there's no warning from the manufacturer about this. They're meant to be used during Christmas so that would exclude a lot of sales. We set them up outside when it was in the high 30's and even though many survived setup, a large number failed in the wind after only a day. We had to take them all down, re-package them and return them. Very disappointing.
After finally deciding to give up on paper bags for our luminaria's we looked everywhere to see what was out there. Did not find many on line until we saw these. They were the best price around and are very well made. They so far have survived wind and rain and are still working perfect. I love them. They are very sturdy and well built. You have to unfold them put the lights in the bags and you are ready to go. Note: If you are putting them on the ground you need to put some gravel or small stones so they will not blow over if you live in a windy environment like us. Other than that they are perfect!!
