e.l.f. Baked Eyeshadow Palette California, 0.28 OZ

It's alright. No it's not your ultimate "fangirl over" eyeshadow palette but, it works okay. Let me tell you, i've never used baked eyeshadow until a few weeks ago. So, I use it right, never looking up the difference between baked and regular eyeshadow and i'm sitting at my vanity wondering why it's not going on my eyelid well or well pigmented. I did the unjustifiable to my poor makeup brush. I flipped the bad boy over and start beating the baked eyeshadow with the end of my makeup brush. Little did I know, you're supposed to wet it. So ladies, make sure to look it up before you became the Godzilla to your makeup palette.

I figured out how to make this palette workable. I got this for free, with an order, and I had to scrape off a LOT of overspray. I also found I couldn't use brushes, the shadow simply would not stick, even with setting spray. However. Fingers are the way to go. This palette would be great for someone who doesn't have a lot of time, or makeup brushes. I created the eye look in the photo using just this palette, my fingers and about two minutes. Would I buy this? Personally, no. I have lots of other palettes I get more use out of. But for someone starting out or needing something cheap and easy, this might fit the bill.

This palette is great, I think a lot of people never read the instructions and that's why so many reviews didn't like it. The palette is baked, so to get to full effect of the pigment, you need to wet your brush a bit before applying. But the shadow is beautiful and lasts all day. I have oily lids, and the shadow stays right where I put it, for hours. Love it!

No pigment at all with the California palette .. wish I read the reviews before I wasted money on it. No pigment what so ever, no matter how hard you press into it most you'll get is a little shimmer which doesn't show unless you shine light onto it. Waste of money.

I bought this a few months ago, and was originally very let down. None of the shadows seemed pigmented at all, they wouldn't move when I use my elf eyeshadow brushes, even when I spayed them with setting spray to make them bolder. However after a while of trying to break them in, I found that if you swatch them all with your finger before you try they, you will have much better results, I'm not sure what is coating the tops of them, but it's great once it's off.
