As a mom I needed an eyeshadow I could easily apply while on the go. This fits the bill. I can apply it with my finger (med. sized hands) or with a brush depending on the situation. It sets quickly, but once set it lasts all day. I have this in Cruisin' Chic. I've been looking for the white shade for ages. It works great as a single wash of color or as part of an overall look.
The product is very nice, easy to use, but not at all true to the color shown on the site. The color I chose is now discontinued but it was shown as a light bright tan and when I received it it was actually a deep bronze, nowhere near the color I expected. So if this is the type of product you enjoy it works well, but be prepared to get at least a shade or two darker than you order and adjust accordingly.
I purchased the Ain't That Sweet and Back to Basics colours. The pinkish Ain't That Sweet is a very subtle, white undertone pink with a bit of shimmer. It's nice but definitely needs a lid primer before application. Back to Basics has a more solid pigment and is great for creases on a multi-colour look or a whole-lid everyday look.
If you have pale skin and hazel eyes, two of these smudge pots are absolutely worth buying: "Ain't That Suite" and "Poppin' Party." Line your eyes with "Poppin' Party," (on the top lid ONLY if you have hooded or older eyes.) "Ain't That Suite," despite its EXTREMELY pink swatch on elf website, in real life is a barely pink shimmering cream that makes an excellent, won't-budge highlighter atop cheekbones, on your cupid's bow, or down the bridge of your nose. For insurance, I always end with elf's Mist and Set spray. Hope you like the look!
So far, I've ordered 4 smudge pots: gotta glow, back to basics, cruisin chic, and brownie points. Now I must say, brownie points is my favorite! It applies so smoothly with or without a brush. It's a beautiful color that compliments many skin tones, I think. Back to basics is a close second! I use it as a base and highlighter depending on the look I'm going for that day. Cruisin chic is such a pretty color as well though I might say it isn't as pigmented as the others. Gotta glow has a different consistency than the rest- it's almost like a whipped consistency but nonetheless a very rich shadow. I'm most definitely gonna purchase more smudge pots, and I highly recommend Back to Basics and Brownie Points :)
