Please do not waste your money or your time like we did. We researched and We read all of the reviews and figured the negative ones were because people were trying to use them like tablets and not as the ereaders they are. We ordered 3 of them for Christmas for our 3 boys thinking the wifi would be nice so they could download books and games right to the ereader instead of having to connect them to the computer, to us that was really worth the extra $10 on each one. When they arrived, all 3 were super slow to power up after charging. 1 of them locked up and we could not turn it off at all until the battery died 2 hours later. the 2nd one kept freezing and would not do download anything, the batter only lasted a day (not being used after trying the inital set up) Both of these when recharged would power on briefly and then just turn off. The 3rd one seemed okay for the inital set up but with the issues on the other 2 it was not worth it to us to even try it further. All 3 were returned and we bought the boys name brand ones with wifi that are also meant to browse the net with (well worth the extra $50 each to do so). Maybe the oness with out wifi or with the 4.0 may be better but this particular item is not worth it.

I originally purchased this item for my 11yr old for Christmas. As soon as I took it out of the box to setup the Wi-Fi connection, it froze. It would not power down, it would not reboot, it would do nothing except show my password for my router! (AGONY)... I politely packed the items up and took them to my nearest Walmart store!!! They kindly gave me my money back! DO NOT GET THIS PRODUCT, IT IS CHEAP AND NOT VERY RELIABLE!! I got exactly what I paid for! No thank you Ematic!

This Ebook Reader was bought to facilitate a mobile book collection. The battery life is good, though the screen brightness doesn't go high enough. The Wi-Fi on this device phases in and out repeatably and the touchscreen is irksome. However for 79 dollars, i wasn't expecting much anyway. I'm sending it back next week and getting a Nook and calling it a day

Purchased for my daughter for Christmas as she wanted an inexpensive tablet. Has a cheap feel, battery life was really, really bad, and the tablet did virtually nothing. Am taking it back and ordered her a Pandigital Star loaded with Barnes and Noble store. Features on that look similar to my Nook Color, and I had a Pandigital 9" tablet for awhile and it was really nice. Really wanted to like the ematic tablet, but it was junk and I cannot recommend it at all.
