Has the prop 65 warning for carcinogens, and plant protein powders are known for sometimes having high levels of lead. They made sure to not to show the warning in any of the images
Smaller, more expensive and poor quality than the previous product. Unhappy with the change to this new version. Bring back the larger sized version that used to be available.
I love shopping at Walmart. I am disabled so I literally can't go in the store, but I can shop online and I truly appreciate the experience that I have by shopping online and I love Walmart.
This seems to be a replacement for Equate's previous "Rich Chocolate" plant-based protein powder, which was previously sold in a 2lb, 19-serving container for under $20. While the price/size change is disappointing enough, the recipe is significantly different between the two. The previous version had far less ingredients, and the new version adds something literally no one was asking for: Salt! Yes! The salt is actually visible when looking at the powder, and results in some strange sensations at times where you might get a concentration of salt when drinking. Gross. Aside from the salt (which appears to have added 150mg of sodium to this product per-serving), the flavor seems mostly familiar. However, they have somehow managed to absolutely ruin the consistency; even with a powerful blender, it is impossible to get a smooth consistency out of this powder. Every drink I have made with it has been quite chalky and unpleasant to consume; it's like trying to drink thick oatmeal. For this reason alone, I cannot recommend this protein powder to anyone. Overall, I'm extremely sad. I've been using the previous version of this protein powder for about 5 years. It's been the best part of my morning. I understand if the price has to change, but I sincerely hope whoever is in charge of this product at Walmart seriously considers at least reverting the recipe back to how it was before. It's enough to have a price increase - please don't ruin something that was wonderful before.
They revamped this protein powder and not only is it a rip off of money but it tastes terrible… the original one tasted chocolatey and good. This one I don't even know what it tastes like. It's like cardboard, sprinkled with cocoa powder, and then you're hit with a weird after taste that tastes like old cigarettes mixed with lotion.
