My daughter was born more than 2 months premature in a city about 75 miles away. She was in NICU on a feeding tube and because I could not make it everyday she was mainly given formula. I only had to pump about 2 ounces a day but I had to endure 2 hours of pain just to barely get that much. It is not as if a baby that small would be able to take in very much. She was only given 5cc's at a time. The pump barely worked (little suction) for the first 3 days then all of a sudden there was no suction at all. I contacted the company and they agreed to send a replacement within 10 business days. I finally got the replacement in 17 days so in the meantime my supply was diminishing. When I finally received the replacement, I tried to use it the first time but there was no suction at all. I was very disappointed and even more so when the woman (Kathy) I spoke to in the company's Customer Service Department told me that their product was not going to meet my needs. It was not as if I was pumping a gallon a day!!! I just needed a couple of ounces a day. I decided to send a complaint email and got a response from someone else that agreed to a refund within 4 - 8 weeks after receipt of the item along with the original purchase receipt. Well, I sent them a copy of the original receipt along with everything that came in the box (not even the complimentary package of pads was opened), a copy of the email exchange between the CSR and the receipt from the post office for having to mail back their horrible product. I can only assume that because I finally got a hold of a "real" Customer Service Representative, my refund made it here within 2 weeks. I'm not saying that the item went directly to her but I can only guess that sending the email exchange between the two of us that included the complaint of the rude CSR I spoke with on the phone had some kind of impact on resulting in a satisfactory return.
Suction is good. I like that it adjusts easily. Easy to clean. Easy to use. Sometimes loses suction, but I think it's because I use it constantly and once it tipped and milk got inside the pumping mechanism. I love it, but I think I need a dual pump for everyday use.
This pump is extremely uncomfortable and annoying. I desperately pumped for 4 hours to get only four oz's. Then realized that all the milk was seeping through the handheld part. And the worst part about this pump which was an unusual thing but i confirmed it by using it a couple times, It made a vague ringing sound that gave me the worst headaches. THE WORST PUMP EVER MADE.
I REALLY LOVE THIS PUMP AND ENJOY USING IT. I AM THINKING ABOUT BUYING THE DOUBLE ONE OR ANOTHER ONE REALLY SOON. IVE HAD IT FOR A WEEK AND WOW IT REALLY WORKS GREAT. MY BABY IS A PREEMIE SOOO SHE DOES LATCH ON SOOO I USE THIS ONE EVERY 2 HOURS AND IT WORKS GREAT. ITS EASY TO CLEAN EASY TO SET UP AND PUMPS MILK PRETTY FAST WISH I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE DOUBLE PUMP THOUGH...BUT PRODUCT IS GREAT!!!
I have used this pump once a day for about two weeks. I used it several times with the ac adapter and several times with re-chargeable batteries (batteries are not included with the product)...and they have endured about 4-5 pumping sessions so far without needing a charge. I believe this is an adequate pump for someone who primarily breast feeds and only needs occasional pumping. We are planning a short business trip, and need to leave baby with grandma for a day and a half. I was initially nervous about pumping (I'm a first time mom, who didn't plan to pump) but I have found it simple and painless. I like this Evenflo single electric pump because it is very compact and portable. The instructions manual is very clear and simple to understand even for someone like me who knew nothing about pumping 2 weeks ago. The company offers a guarantee against defects, so I felt comfortable to try this out, knowing that if something didn't work, we could get it taken care of. The parts are very quick to assemble or take apart, and simple/easy to clean and sterilize after use. Twisting the horn on to the vacuum was the "hardest" part, because the first time I thought I might break it off, even after pushing the yellow release button, but after two times of assembly, I was very comfortable with it, I just had to learn how it worked. The use of this product was simple. It was very easy to get 4 oz milk in 10 minutes. I knew that an electric pump would have some noise associated with it, but didn't know quite what to expect (again lack of prior experience). This product was definitely within what I consider reasonable as far as the noise level. I do go to the baby's room or another room to pump when my husband is sleeping. He may sleep thru it because it is a steady humming noise, but I didn't want to chance the possibility of waking him. The only item in this product package that I don't know my opinion on is the carrying case. The vinyl is stiff, the bag is too small to fit all the pump parts, and there is no handle. I can still use the case for something else altogether, but it is not useful for transporting the pump.
