I have issues with with wild animal and I put this around my house and buried it so they can't get in ! Love it!
I tried this metal hardware "cloth" as a promotional item. (We call it critter netting on the ranch--LOL) I really like the 5'x36" piece I received. It snips super easy with a pair of wire snippers. I'm using this as a barrier around a chili piquin pepper bush because deer think the leaves are scrumptious. I like this metal version because the plastic fencing type netting collapses over time unless you use a support stick or piece of rebar, etc. I hope this product comes in much longer rolls because I have many projects at the ranch to use it. I'm interested, too, in figuring out how it can be used as a gutter guard. As long as it has an easy off/easy on method, it might be just be the perfect solution for my gutter cover. I give this 5 stars and 2 thumbs up because it's just what I need to keep the deer out of my garden spaces and wrap it around my wild chili pequin plants.
My Spearmint was growing very wild and I needed something to contain it. The Expert Gardener 36 in. H x 5 ft. L Hardware Cloth was just the thing I needed. I tied some bamboo stakes to it and was happy to see how well it held back the plants. They are now contained and I will get another roll to finish the "fence".
This hardware cloth worked out fine for making a screen to sift ingredients to make a fine planting starter mix for seeds. It has good rigidity so was easy to form. It was kept in place in the packaging by a long piece of wire which came in handy for my screen.
I chose this wire to use as gutter covers. It took me a couple of hours to cut and install the wire, really learning as I went along. While installing, some leaves fell on the wire but didn't get into the gutter. I only worry about the pine needles and leaf stems that may get stuck in the holes. This is a decent cheaper alternative to the higher priced gutter guards, but I think I would rather have the sleeker and more professional gutter guards at some point. This would be better for protecting gardens from small animals due to its sturdiness.
