I recently purchased the Venus2 125 to replace the voyager 125 I have had for many years. The new machine heats up quickly and laminates wonderfully. Too soon to tell about the reliability but if it is a tough as the Voyager I will have no complaints. Great machine so far.

I have never used a laminating machine before, so I have nothing to directly compare the Fellows Venus 2 125 to, but the specifications are pretty impressive, and it has done a good job on everything we have sent through it so far. As homeschoolers, we have a lot of uses for this machine (flash cards, reusable worksheets, art projects, calendars, schedules, etc.), and I sure it would also come in handy in an office environment. The overall looks of the unit are pleasing (see attached picture), but it does take up a lot of desktop area (it is much longer than I imagined at 21.2 inches; it is 5.1 inches high and 8.2 inches deep). It includes a feature they call “InstaHeat technology” that allows it to warm up quickly (less than a minute). It also boasts a laminating speed of 40 inches per minute, and can laminate up to a thickness of 10 millimeters. It can laminate documents up to 12.5 inches wide (if you don't need to laminate this wide, you probably want a smaller/less expensive laminator like the Fellows EXL 45-3), and will automatically shut off when not in use to avoid overheating. We have not noticed any issues with the external components becoming uncomfortably warm to the touch. Overall, we are very pleased with this machine and look forward to years of use (it comes standard with a 2 year warranty).

I have started setting up a home office and I finally had everything I needed. Computer...file cabinet...printer/copier...wait ...I needed a laminator! What type should I purchase? Well, thanks to The Spark Reviewer Program , I had the privilege of reviewing a good product. The Fellowes Venus 2.125 Laminator. It was designed for the office. It is a sleek , black appliance trimmed in silver. very modern and elegant in design. It was very easy to set up. Plug in the back and switch on. Some technical info: The unit has 1300watts of voltage and 11 amps. It weighs in at a paltry 14 lbs. and the maximum document thickness is 03". The entry width is 12.5", minimum pouch thickness is 3 mil per side and the max is 10 mil per side. Estimated heat up time is 30 to 60 seconds. It also has plenty of useful features an auto hot/cold button...a reverse button ...carry handles...and a mil indicator. This laminator is perfect for everyday projects like laminating photos and recipes. It is also perfect for protecting documents and newspaper articles. This unit also comes with 10 letter size laminating pouches so you can start on your projects when you open the box. It is a great product.

I recieved this through the spark reviewer program to try and to give an honest opinion. When I purchase an item I figure beside the item itself you are actually also purchasing support for that Item and I have to say this company has gone above and beyond. I recieved the Item from Walmart and it was dead on arrival (a first for me from Walmart). I called the number given on the instructions and in less then 10 minuets with their support had anouther on the way without them needing the return up front. A few days later I recieved the replacement and was anxious to try it out and tried to laminate something and it didnt work. When I pulled out the sheet glass came out on it, something had been broken in shipping and here I sat with close to $900 worth of laminators thinking no way they would send in anouther replacement without receiving at least one. I was wrong, 10 minutes later anouther was on the way! When it got here I plugged it in and it worked perfectly. Outstanding. On to my opinion about the Item itself. I hadn't laminated any thing for a very long time, the last time I did you had to put the sleeve between cardboard to send it through and almost always got bubbles or the edges would over heat and you would have to go through several tries to get it right plus it would take forever to heat up. Not with this beauty. It takes next to no time to heat up, under a minute, and you send through the laminating packet and your done, no bubbles and a professional laminated item. With the 6 roller system it runs it through evenly and fast. Unlike the older and cheaper models the heat is all internal so no standing there and sweating while you send Items through. Being an office type laminator it takes up to 10 mil sheets and there is no adjustment needed, its all automatic. When you put the sheet in it checks the size and the light shows you how thick the laminate is while already laminating your Item. It also comes with a standard computer cable for power which is a major plus for me, less things to break:) Now for the cons as I see them, if they are cons at all. It is much larger then I expected and heavier so Its kind of a space hog. Also it only uses the packets so no strait laminating paper and the cost is intimidating. I gave it 4 stars because for a small business or a family Its not practical but understand that this is a large buisiness laminator and thats what its built for, durability and ease of use. In that role with the outstanding support its a definite 5 star machine.

Hi folks, When I began testing out this Fellowes Venus2 125 Auto-Adjust Laminator, I wasn't sure exactly what I was going to use it for. It sure didn't take me long to find many uses for it. I have a medical condition that requires the use of oxygen and I'm supposed to have "Oxygen in Use" posted outside my doors. the plain paper signs kept getting wet and falling off every time it rained, so I began my laminating tasks by first making some permanent signs. So far, my signs have withstood several thunderstorms and are holding up well. I have also gone through my wallet and have laminated several identification cards, my old paper Social Security card, business cards I wish to save, and many other things throughout my home. This Fellowes laminator is real easy to use and works just great. It would be a fantastic asset to any home office. I highly recommend this machine to anyone who is in the market for a laminating machinf. I've used none better.
