WE HAVE PURCHASED 2 NAT GAS PATIO HEATERS 4 YEARS AGO. WE JUST PURCHASE OUR 3RD HEATER. WE ALSO HAVE PURCHASED PROPANE HEATERS IN THE PAST. 2 ARE STILL WORKING FINE (ONE HAS A BAD SCREEN AFTER 5 YEARS). WE USE THE HEATERS ON OUR DECK IN COLD WEATHER, LOOKING AT THE OREGON COAST RANGE MOUNTIANS.
Purchased one of these heaters last month and liked it so much, I purchased 3 in the end. The endless gas is super convenient and lights every time with heat in seconds. Makes any night enjoyable with the solid heat distribution extends the outdoor entertaining around the firepit/pool area to year-round. Would highly recommend one (or more) of these heaters.
Overall I am very happy with the natural gas heater. Relatively easy to build and fires up very easily. My only complaint is that if you want to use this as a portable heater and move it around there is no way for it to be secured to the patio unless you want to bolt it to the ground which I don't want to do as I like to move it around. With the propane patio heaters the weight of the tank keeps it from tipping over however with the natural gas heater it is extremely tipsy and any little movement by wind or even slightly touch will cause the heater to fall over. I have searched the internet for a gizmo that will help keep it in place and as of now no luck
Bought the heater a year ago, but didn't take it out of the box until about a month ago. Easy to put together. I mounted it on a hexagon platform, with wheels, I put together using two 2' square 3/4" plywood boards, one 2" by 4" stud, a 15'gas line (with quick disconnect), and one 50 lb bag of sand. Easy to move around and provides plenty of heat.
I recently purchase this unit and so far so good! Puts out great heat (6'-8' radius) which is plenty for my application. Unit seemes to be good quality, minus the base cover which is plastic. I expected it to be metal, but other than that it works very well.
