The included 9-volt carbon monoxide detector battery powers the alarm even in the event of a power outage, and the CO alarm will chirp about once a minute when the battery needs to be replaced. The CO monitor has two silence features: low battery silence that can silence the low-battery chirp for up to eight hours and alarm silence that can silence the carbon monoxide detector alarm for several minutes. Equipped with a tamper-resistant battery cover pin and a battery cover that resists closing when the battery is missing, the carbon monoxide detector can easily be kept in good working order.
