First Alert PIR725 Easy-install Motion-sensing Light Socket

Since we were often forgetting to turn off our walk in closet light thought this would be a good option. Took awhile to rotate the it to ensure it saw us entering, Unfortunately this means it is not snug. We had to change the bulb when we realized halogen are not allowed. Shame too because we purposely purchased GE Reveal bulbs to show off clothing colors but turned out they are halogen so changed to LED.

The switch to the overhead light for my small enclosed porch is inside the house. When I know I am coming home at night, I can either leave the light on all day so I can see to put the key in the lock or fumble in the dark. This is the perfect answer. I open the outer door and the light goes on allowing me to see to unlock the inner door. Nice that it stays on for a few minutes in case I have to go back and carry something into the house. Gets only 4 stars because there is no sensor to stop it from going on in the daylight.

Does the job exactly as I had hoped. The 360 sensor is perfect for my use as an exit/entry light at front door. . Note: my original light socket has a recessed housing which means i needed an additional screw-in light socket for extension...otherwise, the pir725 is too short for effective motion detection in the deep housing.

Would not screw into light socket easily, and doesn't screw all the way in. Large solder blob on threads may be reason. Light does not come on as advertised. Two weeks "Site-to-Store" was an excessively long time to wait for an order to arrive. Will return for a refund.

I purchased this as my husband cannot find the switch for the hallway to the bedroom/bathroom... this has been beyond expectations ... as soon as you step into the hallway it turns on; turns off after a while, but when you come out of bedroom it comes right back on. Haven't blown a bulb yet from all the on/off ... more than worth it ...
