My sons favorite cup. Never has any issues leaking, easy to use, a bit difficult to clean but we manage. Gave him his cup looking the cup on the left, quickly noticed he chewed half the straw off…… I always check the straw to make sure, so he did this in the matter of 20 mins.
I used to love these until the straw started to smell and no amount of scrubbing and sanitizing would help. This morning I boiled the tops and started to notice something near the holes (inside where the straw is attached). I found a review where someone popped the top apart and figured it worth sacrificing one bottle (this was not easy, I had to stick a butter knife into the gap when the straw was open and then once I pushed hard enough I could get it into the seam of the top). What I found was the most disgusting thing and as a parent I was absolutely heart broken. I turned off the stove and let the water it was boiling in settle and this is what I saw (see photo). These bottles should have been recalled.
Just want to let other mommas know! I've had this cup maybe few months. Started noticing a smell coming from the straw. Soaked it in really hot soapy water and everything. So I got all of my cleaning tools to get into every spot possible. I tried to take apart the straw but couldn't get it out. Used a dry wash cloth to get good grip, on both ends. I ended up using a knife to cut it off and also used the knife to pull apart the lid from the rim of the lid. This is what I found. Being a mom of 3 kids we've gone through plenty of sippys. This is the first one I have found to do this. Won't be using this one anymore.
I just started using this cup for my daughter and she loves it. She finished her drink so quickly. I was happy bc she's had trouble getting the hang of using any kind of straw cups. Well, when I went to clean it, I kept trying to remove the top part of the straw from the lid and it DOES NOT COME OUT! I don't understand what the one customer service repsonse was about in the one review below, but my husband even tried getting it disconnected from the lid and it's impossible. I came here just bc i couldn't find an answer on whether or not it actually was removable. I thought there would be no way it couldn't be removed bc that would build up mold and nasty stuff. Please, tell me how you can remove the top part of the straw from the lid?
I bought this cup for my daughter about 6 months ago. I have bought and tried all kinds of cups for her. But this is her absolute favorite. Everywhere around me is currently out of stock and I wish I could get her a couple more. Yes they can be difficult to wash but it is literally the only cup that she will use!
