My daughter received this toy for Christmas when she was 5 months old. The age rating of the toy started at 6 months so I waited to open it for her. Well, I opened it when my daughter was 6 months - she is 18 months now and still enjoys it but in different ways. At first she just liked the lights and the songs. Now she is really getting into the shapes and the colors. She also happens to bang on it a lot and it has held up to all of her playing. I expect her to use it for quite a while longer. We don't have a lot of space in our home so it's nice to have multi-purpose toys that will last for a while.

We bought this as a christmas present for our 16 month old and he loves the blocks. He could care less that the cookie jar talks. It is able to entertain him for breif periods of time while he tries to figure our which shape goes where but he usually just opens the top and puts them in that way.

This is by far my daughter's favorite toy that she got for Christmas. She plays with it everyday. She loves putting the shapes in the jar so that the cookie jar will sing. In just a few days she's began to understand that the shapes can go in the designated spaces on the side of the jar. I would definitely recommend this toy because your child will love it and it's also inexpensive.

My granddaughter has had the Fisher Price Cookie Jar for 4 years (since she was 2). It's a very durable toy, and we can still find all of its pieces (7 total) if we dig through the toy box. This is a great learning toy that teaches shapes, numbers, colors, etc. It's excellent for helping to develop logic and coordination. My age recommendation would be 6 months to 3 years. This is a toy that will take lots of hard knocks. I operate a daycare in my home, and all of the little ones like this cute little Cookie Jar. They play with it everyday. I purchased another Cookie Jar this year to donate to a needy family with a 1 year old daughter.

My little guy loves to shape sort. This cookie jar fills his desire plus it tells him what shape or number he has just sorted. It's a fun learning tool.
