I basically agree with a lot of the negative aspects that other reviewers have pointed out: 1) There is so much going on (music, etc) that my son views it as a toy. When the batteries ran out, we didn't change them and potty time has been more productive since then. 2) When the batteries were in, his "little guy parts" set off the sensor as soon as he set down. It would say "you went potty!". Then every time he moved around it would repeatedly say it. The whole reward aspect is completely ruined if it isn't connected to the actions. 3) The deflector shield hardly ever stays in place. If my son barely touches it, it pops out. 4) There are way too many little nooks and crannies for the peepee to go. "Easy clean up" is not so easy. So overall, for the money (definitely one of the more expensive ones), I am disappointed in this product. Searching right now to find a better option.

I just purchased this yesterday for my 16 month old son and he thinks it is a play toy. When he sit on it the splash guard falls off and will not stay in place and that is important when you have a boy so you are not cleaning the mess up every time he uses it.It is to playfull and not very durable so i will be returning it today and getting a plain potty not a toy. I am trying to teach him to go to the bathroom but i cant wit this because it is messy.

We bought this thinking it would encourage him to potty, but it enourages him to play! He loves the music but it's distracting and goes off spontaniously! He will sit on it for several minutes and pretend to get the toilet paper or flush it but it's only to hear the music! I do not recomend it for actual potty traing, but maybe just for "introducing" the potty!

My son loves his potty chair. I think the fact that it closely resembles a regular toilet makes him like it even more. He loves flushing it and pretending to get the toilet paper. It is very interactive and the music keeps him entertained while we're waiting for him to "finish." The splashguard is very handy, even though he doesn't like it because it keeps him from seeing what he's doing. The only minor problem I have is that the sensors are very sensitive, even if he hasn't used the bathroom if he makes the slighest movement the music starts that tells him he has used the bathroom.

This potty chair is great. It makes the training experience a lot more fun for the child. I saw a complaint that someone had to lift the kid of the chair to see if they had done anything. But the chair has sensors and tells you if they did anything, as long as you have batteries in it, there is no hassle in this chair. Thumbs up for this chair.
