This toy is good for 6-12 month old children. FP should have considered that parents who are loyal to FP would have more than one of their toys with balls.... The interchangable balls that go with several other toys in the FP line are just a little too big to be used in this toy. It does not seem to be a signicant change for this toy to use the interchangable balls. My son has two other toys which use these balls. He loves the moving/spinning inside figures inside the clear balls and always tries to put the into this toy, but it will not work with them.

My son was not too keen on this. It would hold his attention for a few minutes but that was it. It needs to have more motion and sound. Also, the "tail" that holds it up won't withstand your child pressure if he leans on it. Once a child is old enough to sit without the chance of falling over, there are probably other toys he'd rather play with. The biggest problem is that it is only a good toy for a small age group - those that can sit solidly but not move.

My son would play with this intently for 15 minutes straight and then not look at it again for 2 weeks. It gets kind of boring after awhile. You have to really slam the ball in and tilt the basket to get it to play the song.

Not sure why the other reviewers didn't like this toy. My husband got it for our son when he was 6 months old and he is now 8 months old and has learned how to pick up the balls and put them in the basket. I think this toy has taught him the most. It is manually operated but these days that is a good thing as it teaches the baby how to know he has learned something. Everytime he gets a ball in the basket, we clap and he will manually dunk the basket. This is an awesome boy toy!!!
