Foods Alive - Superfood Organic Black Sesame Seeds - 12 oz.

After reading about all the health and beauty benefits of black sesame, I bought this and started eating a tablespoon every day. I grounded the seeds along with chia and made homemade raspberry jam ( just mix fresh or frozen raspberries with the grounded seeds) and spread on Ezekiel bread... Anyway, it's been about a year of eating the seeds, and my hair hasn't looked this shiny and healthy since I was a teenager!

There is a debate in TCM as to whether certain foods actually build your jing energy or if they just support it & keep you from losing it. Either way, these quality organic black sesame seeds pack a nutritional punch and are a great addition to your diet; add a couple of tablespoons as a standard serving to your meals. I've been using this product for a couple of months so far and it's great for grinding up into a paste or eating it as is on top of ice cream or over other desserts. The reason why I use this is for hair health. But besides that I love the taste: it has a nutty, aromatic smell and taste that can accompany any dish. I found that the size of the product, the quality of the product and the price makes it worth the purchase. Are use this on a regular basis, ground up into a paste and add it into my coffee or cocoa for added hair health benefits. The packaging comes secure, and zipped. The design is simple, but elegant.

I'm a sesame seed enthusiast, yet unfortunately not for the Foods Alive Black Sesame Seeds. This was my first Foods Alive brand purchase - and I was so excited to try them and have such a large size package of seeds on hand. Yet, upon opening the package, it was obvious I was in for a huge disappointment. The seeds had a flat, matte finish (no shine, so obviously lacking in natural oil), there were an unacceptable number of unripe seeds, and the quality was obviously poor. Most disappointing was that there was no discernible sesame aroma, so I decided to try roasting them. Still, nothing. They were completely lackluster and tasteless, hence likely lacking even the health benefits of good, quality black sesame seeds. Sad. :(
