FoodSaver Advanced Design Vacuum Packaging System V2220B Plus Starter Kit

This is the 5th food saver I have had on the farm. My mother owned one back when they first came out, back when they were just as much a novelty as a useful appliance. Having a food saver really is a saver, this model with its sleek look and black fit in the kitchen well even with the country look. The new vac tray rather than the older channel works great and the lock down lever works great ever with messy hands something the older models had a bit of issue with.

This was my first FoodSaver product. I did a lot odf research before I purchased it and at the time Jarden was offering a special discount on this model. I think it is a fabulous kitchen appliance, a must-have item. It keeps food fresh ansd is an excellent way to avoid freezer burn. The food also keeps much longer. It is not an all too inexpensive extra in the kitchen, since the bags and sleeves are quite expensive. On anotyher note if you purchase larger amounts of meat and process it yourself it will pay for itself in a short period of time. I now want to purchase ome of the newest uprights, but my 2240 is still fgoing strong. Jarden also offers excellent Customer Service, so it is well worth it.

This is the second food saver I have owned and this model is much nicer with the hands free operation. Same great functionally and quality but better looking!

I loved my 8 year old food saver Vac 1500 but I wore out the sealer. It had the press and start spots so if something fell or it or was accidentally set of it it would start to vacuum. Like the new lock and press button method better. Haven't use this one much but like the extra 4 inches of counter space. Not sure about not being able to store the roll of bagging material inside, reserving judgment for now. Purchased much cheaper here than at ebay or amazon. I didn't have to wait long for shipping either! I cook 4 to 10 pounds of hamburger ahead of time and have them in packets to throw in microwave, defrost and make tacos, nachos or spaghetti in no time flat.

I am very happy with my foodsaver product. It works excellent. The only thing they could improve this product with is a roll bag cutter built into the unit like seal a meal has from Rival. I use the one on my seal a meal. It slides across and cuts the bags nice and straight.
