Frame It All Extendable Cold Frame Greenhouse

I bought this product last year and put it together this year. I like the design; however, the plastic cover does not extend to or below the top of the frame. This is disappointing as I will have to add a wrap-around to keep the bugs and/or cold weather out. As for the frame, some parts arrived broken, but there were extra parts in the package to replace them. One of the boards did not have the predrilled holes at one end, but this did not prove to be a problem.

This fits perfectly on the raised bed. It does a great job letting us start early and keep things growing late. BUT there is a huge problem the ties tend to disintegrate over time. Also, hail, wind etc. the cover itself get damage and this becomes the real problem. They do NOT sell just the covers. We have been forced to re-order the whole kit about 4 times. We have enouch of the metal structure now to build 8 of these and only 2 covers.

I had purchased a 2ft X 4ft cold frame greenhouse from the same company and it allowed me to have very early lettuces last Spring. So I was excited to purchase a larger greenhouse. Unfortunately, it is poorly made and one of the zippers broke after being used only a few times. Actually, the slider came out because there was no stop to the zipper (it looks like it had been cut off when the bottom seam was made - see picture). It was impossible to put the slider back and therefore that zipper is permanently closed, which makes it much harder to water when needed.

I love the idea of this, but the fit isn't the best so there's not much over lap maybe an inch, so when the wind blows the cold frame will blow into the bed. Exposing any plants on the edges to the elements. When not windy the temperature is definitely higher inside than outside, which is want I needed. Just wish it sealed better around the edges. Also not very heavy weight and will tear easily.

We love it!! So easy to put together, we love the way it looks. we started with 3 of the 4x4 sections. we will do one single and stack the other two. I just ordered the sunroom plastic screening add on for the winter months coming and plan to use that for cold and rain. We are still new to this so will post an update when we order more. Yes, I know we will order more! This is a well thought out, environmentally safe, durable product to help us with our gardening needs. Thank you for a fabulous garden box!
