Compatible with Franklin's Bookman II line of expandable dictionaries and language translators, the DBD-3040 German-English dictionary cartridge is ideal for travelers, language students, and business professionals. The powerful cartridge offers instant access to 2.6 million entries in German and English, including 275,000 headwords and phrases; 1,369,600 translations, inflections, grammatical entries, and phonetic spellings; and 1,000,000 advanced verb conjugations. As a result, users can write and speak effectively in either language without bungling certain verb tenses or grammar rules. The entries are culled from Pons Worterbuch fￃﾼr Schule und Studium, one of the most respected German-English dictionaries available. To use the advanced verb conjugation feature, the user merely enters the verb and tense in one language (e.g., "I learn"), after which the DBD-3040 determines the correlating phrase in the other ("Ich lerne"). The device even corrects for irregular conjugations, so you don't end up with a confusing, mismatched phrase that will stop a German reader in his or her tracks. Add in a grammar guide--which offers a ton of essential information on German grammar rules--and a phonetic spell checker and you have a terrific sidekick for your German language instruction.
