Marketside Fresh Cut Cantaloupe Chunks, 16 oz, Tray

Some people think it's crazy to buy precut packaged fruit. I'm a 1 person household and when I buy fresh fruits, it sometimes goes to waste. I have trouble cutting the fresh fruits. This fruit is as fresh as if I had purchased a whole one I have to cut. I will always buy my fruit like this

Bought and received on 8/20/2025 and expire date on the Marketside Fresh Cut Cantaloupe Chunks, 16 oz, Tray was 0/17/2025. There was white slime sitting all in the bottom of the container. I don't understand why the ppl shopping never check the dates on items and so very often end up grabbing expired products that are obviously bad by simply looking at the produce/product itself. Shoppers need to be trained to select non-expired items. I wonder if they never check the dates on products that they buy for themselves or if when shopping for someone else they just don't care what they grab since it isn't for themselves.

This is the second time I have bought this cantaloupe, and it has been the same experience both times. It is not ripe, it is kind of hard. I could probably deal with that but it tastes awful! It's not spoiled. It's like it's soaked in vinegar or something before they put it in the package. It tastes very sour and acidic? I couldn't even get past the first bite.

Upon opening the package, a day after receiving it from the store, the rancid smell of the cantaloupe was obvious and had quite seriously been bad and turned some time ago. More shocking is that the expiration date was 7/18/25, and received from the store on 7/17/25.
