I recently got this tablet through Verizon. I love this Tablet. It has so many features that it will take to discover all the features and to learn how to use them . I love the s-pen . The tablet is fast and responsive. The only cons for me is : 1) I wish the cord from the charger to the tablet was a little longer. 2) I wish it was possible to install apps on to the micro ad card, because I can see now that the storage on the tablet is 32 gig and I found out after I put in a micro 64 gig ad card that you can't have the apps installed on to the sd card. It woun't take long to fill up the 32 gigs of storage in the tablet. Why samsung took away the ability to do is beyond me. 3) I also cannot understand why they took away the ability to add themes. Otherwise I think it is a great tablet and I love it .
The Tab S3 is a no-brainer upgrade decision. For several years Android cellphones have made amazing advances while consumers have been waiting without seeing those advances reflected in Tablet offerings. The S3 is a move towards reigniting the Android Tablet market. It hits all the right notes with a gorgeous screen, smooth off-the-shelf interface, numerous options for moving your phone/phablet programs, expandable storage & the wonderful S pen. Now, the artist in me hopes Samsung finds a way to bring this kind of polished product to the niche still being held down by my dependable 12.2 Tab Pro...
Size is great, fits in most mid size purses/bags. Playing music is great, the 4 speakers make a tremendous difference. I expected it to function more like my Note8 since it just came out, but it's more like my Note5 in screen look, feel, function. Surprised the S-pen doesn't have a storage place inside the tablet like the Note8. I would take a smaller pen if needed to have internal storage slot. I did find a nice case that included a pen holder that also protected the nub. Have only taken a couple of pictures and they came out very nice. Would have also expected the dual camera w/this tablet but it is same as Note5. Didn't buy it for taking pix anyway, just to display, which is awesome. Hope they beef up the Gear 360 app to do more on the tablet (runs better & does more on my Note8). When I'm home I put the phone down & grab the tablet! Happy it uses same charger USB-C that our phones use. Very happy I bought this tablet & love the size. Husband's has the 10.1 & is a bit cumbersome & he's jealous of mine because of the size.
Overall this is a decent tablet. Performance wise, there may be few that are better. However, software wise, I see too little effort. The App Drawer is just pathetic. I would really like the "hide apps" feature turned back on. My 2 years old Tab S has it. The starkness is a little too Appleish, though I commend the lack of overall bloat. This device is just lacking some power features that already existed, they didn't need to be invented. I am also appalled that the tablet still doesn't have onboard pen storage, though the smaller Note does. I do not walk around with pens or pencils in my pocket, I absolutely will not walk around with an S.pen in my pocket. Anyway, a good tablet, though it exemplifies the death of tablet innovation. Just glad I got it for half price. *phew*
