Gamma2 Vittles Vault Outback Dry Pet Food Storage Seal Bucket, Gray, 10 Pound Capacity

I never give anything a five star review; at least I try not to because nothing, including me, is perfect. These containers are a must have if you live anywhere that the insect population is always trying to move in with you or if you have to store dog/cat/chicken/grains etc foods indoors or in a garage or shed. Initially, there is a very "plastic" odor coming off of the containers. Frequent washing with a mild, safe soap and cold water seems to help. I wash after each container empties and before refilling. I use the two I purchased for storing my dry dog food. I live in a very hot, dry climate and the ants just love to find their way indoors looking for food and water. Best bet; call an exterminator. Then, pick some of these babies up to make certain no food odors draw the insects back to the source. I plan to decorate my two containers as I have to store them where they can be seen. I wish I had gotten this done so I could show you pics, but anyone with a creative bent will understand what I mean. My personal preference is to line the container with paper toweling, then pour in the kibble as close to the top as possible. Less air, more fresh. As the container contents go down, I cover the top with paper toweling as well. I can't say with any certainty that doing this helps keep the food fresh and smelling good, but the food does smell fresh, so I'm gonna continue to work this plan. I recommend these containers and plan to purchase more to hold my Earthquake/ End of the World/ Apocalypse food supply while we all wait. In the interim, I thumb my nose at any insect who dares even try.

I bought this because my new dog food only comes in a 15 lb bag and I have a shih tzu so I needed to store the extra. It is suppose to hold 10 to 15 lbs but that is not the case. My 15 lb bag of dog food would not fit and I had already removed some for her to eat. The product is great just beware of the size..

The square tub funnels up to a round gamma lid at the very top. Sorry - no picture. It does hold my 40 lb bag of dog kibble with plenty of room for the tail end of another bag. Dog can't get into it. In 2 dimentional form - if you traced the circle of the 5 gallon bucket on a piece of paper and drew a square just outside that circle, that's about the size of it. It's as tall as a tall 5 gallon bucket but stouter because it's square.

We buy bulk flour and I bought the 50 pound Vittles Vault to store it. We've used Vittles Vault for years for our pet food. Keeps bugs, ants, and other stuff out of the food - keeps it fresh. I only wish I could have picked it up from the store and saved a few bucks on shipping. Even with the shipping, it was less expensive to order it from Walmart.com than to buy in the pet stores!

One of my cattle dogs has been able to open any kind of food container I have tried--until the Vittle Vault! I bought two of the 50 pound size. LOVE EM! Even though this dog TRIED to open the VV (leaving tooth marks all around the top), he was NOT able to get into it. I will not be without these!!
