These are beautiful dishes and arrived well packaged with no breakage. They are a little lighter weight than expected and feel more fragile than my stoneware. However, they go through the dishwasher and microwave with flying colors! I have accidentally clinked other dishes into these with no breakage to date. I'm very pleased with the purchase and do recommend for casual dining/entertaining!

I am in love with these dishes! The design is so fun but elegant at the same time. I think it's important for me to find things for my home that have a modern style but also are family-friendly. All of my kids pointed out how much they love the stripes and polka dots on the bowls and plates! These aren't super flashy but they are enjoyable to look at and pleasant to eat out of! They have been great for everyday use but I have also loved bringing them out when we have guests over. The kids have been using them every day and we haven't had any breaks or chips, which says a lot because they aren't usually careful when it comes to dishes. My favorite part of this set is the dessert plates. We have used these for dessert but I think they are the perfect bowl for soups, particularly gumbo! The wide bottom and slightly tall sides make it so easy to eat soups with lots of chunky ingredients. This is the first Gap Home item I have owned and I cant wait to see what else they come out with in the future! I would defiantly recommend getting these dishes because they're not only durable but also really cute and fun! I have received so many compliments about these and I've only had them a little while.

I'll start with packaging. I received mine by FedEx. Everything arrived fine. Every dish and bowl are separated by cardboard and their are three layers of corrugated cardboard (minimum) between the dishes and the shipping box exterior. My everyday dishes are Corelle. These are much nicer, more uniform, and thinner. All design work lies under multiple layers of glaze/coating. They just have the look and feel of a quality product. I appreciate that all of the dishes are in a usable size for me. I don't like bowls that are no bigger than a cup, just shaped differently. My Corelle bowls are big enough for a small serving of pudding. Both bowls are big enough for what I consider honest portions. One works well as a pasta plate.

These are very cute red and white ceramic dishes. I love the different patterns! I am sure they are as sturdy as any breakable dish. I doubt it would last if dropped on the floor. But otherwise, I believe they will wear well if used with some care. They aren't extremely heavy like stoneware is and not as light as melamine. A nice weight. The soup/cereal bowls are a good size. I am actually glad this set didn't include cups or mugs because most of the time they are just unneeded. Especially in a family that doesn't drink tea or coffee. This would be a really nice breakfast set. I can recommend this.

The Gap Home 16-Piece Fine Ceramic Dinnerware Set is lovelier than the photo shows. It is made of bone porcelain for strength and durability; it is breakable and hopefully shatter resistant. The set contains 4 each of 10” dinner plates, 8” dessert plates, 6” dinner bowls and 6” bowls. It is definitely elegant with some pieces having a whimsical pattern. The dinner plates and dinner bowls share a classic dual stripe border. While the dessert plates and bowls have 4 different fanciful patterns with one dessert palate and one cereal bowl having the same design. Although it can be used for everyday purposes, I prefer and plan to use it for Sunday dinner and special occasions. Although, the set is dishwasher safe, I much prefer to handwash. It is also microwave safe. I chose pewter (gray) to match my dining room, but other colors are available. Now I will now search and try to get matching drinking glasses; I am certain I should be able to get matching mugs. I give this set 5 stars because they are flawless (no blemishes) and beautiful!
