Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx - GPS navigator - hiking 2.6"

I bought this GPS just over 3 years ago for geocaching. It is the most accurate GPS I've seen. I always feel confident that I will find my car again once I go hiking into the forest lands. It is easy to use and the batteries last a long time. I also use this GPS in my car on vacations. It is great. I highly recommend it.

Had a lot of trouble with this unit. Never worked as advertisaed, slow to acquire, Garmin support was unable to help me. Ended up buying the DeLorme PN which has been fantastic and included all the maps needed without nickel and diming me the way this unit does.

The 60csx is UNUSABLE out of the box unless you buy the extra street, topo or water maps ($100+ each). The "base" map that it comes with only shows major highways and is not usable for navigation.

The GPS works very good Excellent signal lock. The map software is next to nothing. You have to purchase the Garmin Mapsource products to make it work decent, and them you can not import any trails or routes from any other software but Garmin & the 2008 US topo is outdated. There are missing streets & roads that are years old. Overall the unit works great and i will be using it quite a bit this snowmobiling season.

The Garmin 60CSx comes loaded with features and is very easy to learn to use. Where most GPS units won't pick up a signal indoors, this one will not only get a signal but will get a full 3D fix everywhere I have taken it so far. I would highly recommend it to anyone for it's ease of use, functionability and first class features.
